This is so me. This is scarily dead-on.

I'm so happy, I decided to skip my first class this morning so I slept in, and then the class I went to ended about an hour and a half earlier than it should've (fine with me), and then I bumped into one of the people in my program on the way to the bus that lives close to my house and I got a drive home, which saved me like 2 hours on the bus! Woohoo!

For the whole drug issue... I'd have to agree with Gal...sorry, Cgal :)
I don't think supplying drug addicts with clean drug aids will not even come close to communicating with the user that drugs are, well, bad. Even though they've made the decision to use, it shouldn't be encouraged.
It's like saying "just say no" but here's a clean needle, you know, just in case ya say yes. Doing this, although it's more for the safety of the user, is only promoting the safer?!? usage of drugs. Clean needle or not, the user is doing drugs and is at high risk of long-term damage or even death. Not because of the cleanliness of the needle, but because of the freaking heroin!
Shouldn't we try to aim for a better goal, like reducing the usage of drugs altogether instead of helping them out because we think they're hopeless and need help (not mentally) with a clean supply? *sure, here ya go!*
I know if I was an addict, and all I heard was free clean needles, I'd be in a rush for my dealer. And maybe I'd even start selling the clean needles for the profit, or to buy more drugs.
Clean needles are a lose-lose situation.
Sure, they're at a lower risk of STDs and shit, but they're still at a high risk of everything else.
Drugs *are* still bad, right?

I feel perhaps more should be done to give these people the help that they NEED instead of giving them needles to help them basically kill themselves. Dirty needle or clean needle-in the end the results are deadly. "human life should be respected, no matter who/what the person is" that's very true. Abortion views...no i dont think public funding for abortion clinics would work out. There are many people AGAINST abortion..but there are many people for it. Me being one of those people. I am completely pro-choice...but there is a time limit on which i am all for abortion. If you know you are pregnant in the first trimester and do not want to have this child, I agree with abortion. HOWEVER I don't agree when people that are say, 6 months pregnant, decide they don't want to carry their child anymore and go for an abortion. That's just not right. Cameron..you say that you think "ppl who have sex have to be faced with the responsibilty of having a child and not killing one". How about the women out there who are rapped? who are sexually molested and end up being pregnant? What do you say for that issue? Being raped is the most horrible thought I could ever imagine. To become pregnant ..after being raped or molested....I could NEVER carry that baby inside me. Having that child grow inside would just be a reminder of the acts that happened. This is a case for many women...and I definitely agree with abortion in these cases. not ALL women have unprotected sex,get pregnant, and have an abortion. Many women are hurt sexually...and end up getting pregnant AGAINST their will.

"well hey, do it and stay safe.." the msg will come out with both condoms and clean needles but it's to make them Safer not safe. That message coming out i think is a good thing. good point cliff relating the condoms to clean needles. i really wish that if ppl choose to do drugs they choose to use clean needles. if the city has to give them the needles so they do in cleanly it only shows the greater disparity of the user. i know the needles will save lives and i think the place which they should be distributed out of our places where the person can seek help and yet not condemned. (hymmmm i dont think that is possible). yes even if that could work lives would be lost but at some point you have to let ppl take there own risks.
as for the condems in schools. that leads to ppl who of our not of age to make an informed decission on sex. errr but give them the rubbers and do the best to stop them.

how about with abortion clinics? i dont think abortion is OK but am not exactly sure where i stand with right to hold open clinics.

although i have to admit that the lady was pretty stupid to have been so impatient as to have made her comments while you were still there. you should _never_ do that!

anyway, about the skating thing. i can definitely say that i pretty much KNOW what i'm talking about. it's all i've been paying attention to for the past 24+ hrs. it hasn't only been canadians _or_ just ignorant ppl who are commenting on how the outcome seems wrong. i've seen a lot of non-canadians (mainly americans) who completely support salé & pelletier--there was an online vote thing on nbc or whatever, and about 95% of the votes (there were like over 100, 000) were in favour of the cdns. there have also been figure skating professionals (even judges) who thought that the cdns should have won, or that they had the better performance.
even if you don't want to believe what other ppl say, think about it logically: the whole thing came down to artistic marks. they were tied for everything else, so the russians edged by a bit w/ better artistry (which is still subjective). WAIT A SEC. the freaking russians VISIBLY MESSED-UP TECHNICALLY--the freaking guy screwed-up a jump and the girl was pretty wobbly on a few throws. the cdns were almost PERFECT technically (salé does admit to landing on her pick a bit too much or something on one throw, i think); at least they didn't screw-up very visibly. how the hell did they both end up w/ equal marks for technique?!??? the whole thing shouldn't even have came down to artistic marks in the first place--it should've ended w/ the technical marks! FUCK!!!!
and if that isn't enough, you could just study both pairs' expressions/reactions after their skates, and you can immediately tell that they themselves knew how they skated and what they deserved.
btw, a lot of ppl believe the inquiry is a crock of shite...just fer show, so to speak. to settle some ppl down for the time-being.

about the pairs figure skating...you don't understand how pissed i was yesterday. what happened is frickin' outrageous. i really respect the way salé & pelletier are reacting to it all. but they (as in the cbc) say the ISU is actually going to look into it or something. i think what their choreographer said on cbc is the smartest thing--those judges should get together w/ the canadian and russian pairs and explain frame-by-frame to them while they replay their performances why they judged the russians to be better. they deserve an explanation at least. if they can provide one that's relatively valid, then fine. but w/out doing that, i think everything is bullshit.

i actually support the WTC flag being flown at the olympics. without regard the events of sept. 11th hold a huge role on this olympics games. some random reason: it's in the states, they have to spend millions and extra millions on security for the events (y ignore it), blah blah unity of the rings and the country, and a sign of overcomming the attack.
the olympics is not something sacred and is corupted all over. i think it's a positive sign if this gathering of the world also draws attention to some of the worlds issues. seeing that IBM, McDonalds, Coke, Nike etc and tons of other corpoorate sponsers draw hugly about these games why shouldn't real issues also be broght in. they have no problem plaster logos all over the fricken place why not a flag in respect?

SO wanna hear what happened to me? TUESDAY..i'm in lecture.*didnt go the week before* and i'm sitting there when the prof' goes "as you know it's your diagnostic tests today.." WHA? i never knew. so im freaking out and ran up to my tutorial leader after the lecture and it was an essay analyzing some poem that i didn't have w/me..so i hadda run to the library to find it ... this library is huge! so of COURSE it's on the 5th floor..go up there..took me forever to FIND IT cos there were so many sections (so confusing)..found it...read it..jotted down some fast notes and ran to class. in class wrote some more notes..and OMG this essay was pure CRAP. terrible. it's only worth 5% thankfully...but didn't I FEEl like an idiot. *sigh*. never again....
so I'M Loovvving the snow. haven't been to school in 2 days..no thanks no way..not taking that stupid go bus all the way there n back. so i'm home..loving it:) hehe. anyhoo...i'm off..i think i wrote a TAD tooo much..so take care n much love..cgaline;)
