aww...was joel surprised? rosa got sloshed?! oh my.
we went out fer andria's b-day last nite and it was pretty good.
bubba's poutine after a lot of dancing and alcohol is the greatest thing ever.
got up at 2:30 pm today. at around 5 am, my legs were screaming at me.
don't need to watch the U2 elevation tour live from boston 'cause i got to witness it live (and in the heart)!! mwahahhaha...and my bro has it on dvd already.
alright, here's _the mini-roadtrip to napanee, ontario_:
gemma, andria, and i decide to head to napanee, former hometown of the greatest non-anti-popstar ever, avril lavigne. we want to get those red home hardware soccer t-shirts that she featured on her SNL debut. we want them for various reasons. gemma and andria actually want to wear them and i want to make some $$ on e-bay. ;P so we get in andria's car and take the 30 min drive west on the 401, and fate gives us a not-so-subtle sign that we were meant to go on this trip b/c the radio starts playing "i'm w/ you" right as we enter the town. we spot home hardware right away and head right for it. we also decide to pretend that we came on a quasi-pilgrimmage all the way from the yukon to get the shirt since andria's car _does_ have the plates to prove it (andria comments on the low believability of this story however, since the chinese population of whitehorse is approximately zero). as we head inside the store, it's obvious to everyone why we're there. what else would a bunch of rather embarrassed twenty-something girls be doing in a home hardware?! i spot the shirts and we each grab one (well, i took two) and head straight to the cash registers. we wait in line to pay, and this strange old man comes up to us and just stands there looking at us. hmm. after i finish paying, i hear a man behind me asking the cashier, "are these actual avril lavigne screws? good, then i'll take 'em!" i am laughing my ass off.
we get back in the car and decide to explore the rest of napanee since we're there already, and probably won't ever be returning. we drive towards the "downtown" area, park the car, stick enough money in the parking metre to last us over an hour, and begin to explore. andria wants to go into this little café that looks really cute from the outside, so we head in to discover that we're the only customers, besides this one girl w/ her baby (who is cute, but has a rather large head...he's gonna be a smart one). we order some caffeine and sit at a little table and stare at all the themed gift baskets full of chocolate and other misc gift basket-y things that are on display in a corner of the room (the place is called "the basketcase café"--ohh, i get it).
we leave the café and walk down the little strip that we assume is the "downtown" area, and begin to notice that somehow we really stand out there...ppl can tell that we are not native napanee residents...and ppl are staring at us. as we go further down the street, we see three police cars parked around a shop and an officer confronting a group of teenaged-looking boys. we figure we're hitting the "ghetto" of napanee, so we turn back in the direction whence we came. we're getting pretty freaked by all these ppl staring at us through the windows of the shops, so we beeline it back to the car. there are still 40 mins left on the parking metre. oh well.
as andria is a bonafide caffeine addict, she decides that she needs to make a pit stop at timmy's before we head back to 'ol k-town, so we stop off at a timmy's location near the home hardware and wait in line there for about 15 mins before we get bitched at by a tim horton's employee who feels she needs to lecture us on how to order a "medium _regular_ coffee." i feel the urge to take pics of the home hardware as we drive past it, and, as luck would have it, fate reassures us again that we were meant to be there that day as "anything but ordinary" (i think) is playing on the radio to send us on our merry way outta napanee.
but wait! there's more. on the highway heading back, we see a truck that has "lavigne trucklines" or something written on the back of it! gemma snaps a memento of it for me. then we see a pick-up truck that has a red t-shirt tied to the back of it that is flapping in the wind, and i swear it was one of the home hardware soccer tees!! i get a pic of that as well.
damn, i can't wait 'til i finish off this roll of film that i've had since freaking last november so i can show you all what i'm talking about.
p.s. sadly, i can't sell the danged shirt on e-bay anymore b/c poohead kate found out about it and wants one now. argh.
