i'm working friday night at 5, but i can try to switch it up w/someone else.
we've got to go!!!

i'm actually not free tomorrow--at least i don't think i am. :(
it looks pretty crappy out. do you want to postpone 'til after new year's? how 'bout friday? or are you working?
awww...i can't believe this stinking holiday is almost over already!!!

hello!!!

alright-christina, are you free tomorrow?
von checked the weather and it's supposed to be raining all day long!
but tomorrow is sunshine & lollypops
so would you rather go on tues?

Sunday, December 28, 2003

out for coffee with the rolo soon, haven't seen her in what seems like forever!

christina (whos milkshake is better than ours)-vonvon is up for the tdot tomorrow as well. i laughed so hard reading 'if you want to go early, let me know in adv.so i can try to sleep early or something tonight' did you forget who you were talkin to?! the queen of sleeping in. no way will i go early, im in massive need of rest. this weekend has been absolute hell on earth. i'm going to get my contact perscription renewed or whatnot in the morning & afterwards it's a go! i totally don't care what we do either. shopping is always good for me, especially if it's kensington since i never got to search around w/my brother. there's so much to do!!! hmm..shoe museum, how much is that? distillery district sounded awsome too...i'm thinking more twd's clothes etc. then maybe museum later??
call von-she's so much better w/slappin things together than me!
so yay we're going. :D

crissybob-i totally knew you'd appreciate the spongebobness of my mom. so cool. crazy loot let me tells yah. so me. so fun. so much feeling like i was a kid all over again.

anyone else in for tdot tomorrow?

i never wrote about how the time downtown w/my bro was lovely. i love that kid:) bought him some killer army pants for christmas & afterwards we watched lotr-rotk (sooooooo goooooooooooood..merry & pippen rock my world!) i have the best brother -ever-.

k
off w/ro
love you guys!
cgalxxxx

Happy (1-day late) birthday Nadine!!! I hope you had a good time (sucker) *lol* We got you soooooooo bad. ;)

Cgal, that was so sweet of your mom! lol. I love (the good kind of) surprises. Sounds like you got some crazy loot this year. Every year I love finding my fam the perfect presents. They think I don't listen to them but I show em up every year. Boo ya!

I knew it'd be trouble after listening to the Milkshake song and instantly liking it. lol, I like Walter Becker's "11 Tracks of Whack". Just the title's enough for me to download it. :)

It's been such a good week so far. I hope everyone's had a good Christmas and managed to survive the Boxing Day deathwish massacre at Best Buy.

My sweater is inside out.

OF COURSE sondre is copying me!!!
anyway, i'd still like to go down tomorrow...i'd like to buy some clothes and stuff (i read preloved is having a 40% off sale?!), but it really doesn't matter what we do. i'm bored and being unproductive. i think yvonne said she'd like to go down sometime as well...
maybe we can go together!!! :-o
shoe museum? distillery district? clothes shopping? movies? something!
we can go whenever you want...although if you wanna go early, let me know in advance so i can try to sleep early or something tonite. :D

sondre likes micheal jackson's Bad album/song aswell =p
i still see nothing fantastic about the milk shake song. the best part about her doing it live was the foam party they had on stage overflowing from a giant milk shake.

christmas has been really good.

i lost 4 pounds leading up to christmas eve and gained 8 after =S.
marc, thanks for takin care of me the other day. tooooooo much drink in my body. i was a bit hazey going into yesterday's fam jam. I took pics from that event. Some cute ones of my godson and his sis in there.

my gift list this year includes:
Rainbow 6 - PC game
Clothes - shirts, sweaters, pant
Memory Card - 256MB SD

NYE - i am interested in the DOcKs party but it's really $ for just going out to the docks. I'm still thinking of doing a chilled out nye gathering at my place. (after the rach din potluck).

sondre is totally copying you christina. we all are.

i just remembered that you were asking if someone wanted to go downtown on the 29th (tomorrow)
you still going?
i may be up for going...i have the next 2 days off work.
lemme know what time you were planning on going/etc/etc/etc. (all those wonderful details;)
i'm 50/50 as my body is in need of some MAJOR sleep but still in need of adventure.
i'll check back on here tonight:)

xxo

sondre likes it too!!! yaay, sondre! :))

Friday, December 26, 2003

j & i were going to attend the destiny party.
but then we weren't.
&then we were
& now, we're not, because the jungle (minus the headlining dj) will be in a tent
which means dust & chills
&leads to illness.
so, it's a no-go.
we'll party it up on the 3rd in good jungle style
everyone is welcome to attend, tickets are $15 i believe. (capital j people!..ok..so cam will only get this one;)

soo..not sure of what to do
but bars are not my bag
but i'm up to chilling with you all
the cheapest way possible:)
money leads to dissapointment
inexpense is always good times.
i'm not making plans though
because i'm anti-newyears
so if you all figure out something-i'm there (if affordable:)

christmas was lovely because it wasn't about the gifts & excess in $spending but rather being w.loved ones.
joel & i kept it to the minimum
and there was the most jaw dropping & eye popping than ever.
i recieved:
spearhead-everyone deserves music
requeim for a dream (my absolute favorite)
and..get this...a SPONGEBOB pillow!
but it's him, dangling legs & hands & he's super happy and cozy. i was thrilled. such excitment.

w.family it turned out to be a spongebob christmas:
got a top for my pj pants
a talking s.bob (so freakin funny)
socks/glocks (glove/socks)
s.bob kd
s.bob pens/pencil/folder
pjs
finding nemo
cookie monster tank & boyshorts
&to top it off-a james dean calander (which my mom totally tricked me with. she wrote 'to steve' and told me it was some model calendar..i was so mad. she's a tricky one! i give her massive points for that)
&of course no books b/c i'm eversodifficult with what i'd like (books not in print/out of stock aka. samuel hynes 'a war imagined' and books on 40s/50s/60s hair)
all in all a lovely time.
spending it w/my family & joel + my lil'cousins from chicago made for great times.

&of course, the love gets ruined by boxing day.
but i wont drag on about my anger
in fear of cameron telling me off;)

so hope you all got lots of love & what you wished for & ate lots.
xox
cgalxxxxx

hey, happy holidays, ppl. sorry i'm late w/ it...haven't been online for a few days.

i got $$$ and the 24 hr party ppl dvd and orwell's 1984 and chapters/indigo $$ and a pen w/ my name lasered on it and more $$$ for christmas! yaay. oh, and of course there's the harmonica from last month. my parents didn't know what to get me, so i ordered it myself from insound.com:
- i am the fun blame monster -- menomena (it's FANTASTIC)
- love is hell pts 1&2 10" vinyl -- ryan adams
- all medicated geniuses 45 single -- pretty girls make graves
- careless talk costs lives issue 1 (which is actually their 12th and last issue)
- and i got a vice/insound cd sampler, too!
i think i might use some of the $$ i got and get this book audrey hepburn's son wrote about her.

as for NYE, are we still doing the potluck dinner thing beforehand? lemme know.

and is anyone interested in going downtown on dec. 29 or something? lemme know too.

to bed!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!!

:)

Merry Christmas to you all :)

Wednesday, December 24, 2003

cgal, it's bc the guy uses the tooth paste and starts yelling out "bang bang". It all seems rather crassy.

silly me, i almost forgot.

Merry Christmas to you all, lots of luv. Hope you all have a safe and good one.

Cameron Bay.

lol, you guys are crazy.

And laugh away! If my pain causes you to giggle. Go on. I can hear you titter. *Diverts attention to Marc's sprain* lol. :) Just kidding, hope your knee feels better Marc. I got all my Christmas shopping done yesterday and this afternoon so don't feel bad.

I'm thinking of doing something along the lines of something laid back. I'm not feeling clubby this year. I don't know what I'm feeling. I have hook ups to tix for an open bar something banquet $40. I don't know where it is, I just heard "open bar banquet".

Cgal, I got your email. At least you got time sensitive material within the week, lol. Poor thing, I'll make sure I start using your Yahoo address from now on.

Cam, I'm going to look up this Crest flavours commercial I apparently remind you of...

Merry Christmas eve, everyone. *lovelovelovelovelove*

thanks marc,
the guvernment isn't charging more then normal.

i like kahula's new ad where the lady presses walking down the street presses her face against a spa's window. it was followed by a crest ad with new flavours, it reminded me of crassy. then there was a electronic dish scrubing brush by dawn! best 3 ads in a row i have seen all year =p

Cameron

a possible other option for NYE is a get together at my place. (movies, games, music, drink, etc). boo yeah? boo nah??
i dont mind going out but i want to keep cost down and hopefully be together with you guys.

marc,
your drunk injuries were caused from after crassy's, NOT dicks?. "gooo drunken leaps off bences in dudnas square!"... were u tired when posting or still a bit buzzed perhaps? ;)
-i dl sp1 for xp yesterday. i had to change my serial number and all which was alright but after it's all been done my pc is rather noisey. i think the fan is the culpret. any ideas?

lovelovelove
loveloveloooooove!!!
i have tomorrow off. how exciting!

i'm glad you all enjoyed the cheerleading kicks. they were for your entertainment, yeah, i'm crazy on my own. LOVE IT. smashing time really. you're all fantabulous. and the time................and.......................the................................ ......money....................nude...................ki.......d.......e....................o?
crissy: your snowboarding story was incredible. such laughter, but only because you're okay or else no laughs;)

i had something to say but now i've lost it. damn broken brain.
AH YES!
my email (boo@dnb.net) is awful, it's giving me all my emails extremely late. so if you don't mind, please start emailing me at

galineb@yahoo.ca

so much easier & at least i know stuff will get to me!
much thanks.

have a wonderful christmas eve everyone!!!!
love cgalxxx

crass i loved your discription of the baby hill, i tried not laugh at the fall, but the last comment about almost repeating it on the 2nd half ;)
i have never tried snowboarding. some friends from humber are looking into doing that thing in early jan.

Thanks guys, I had a lotta fun on Friday! I have to admit, Cgal's cheerleading kicks were the cutest thing I've ever seen, lol, you rock! I'm glad you were all there with me otherwise the lesson that I learned (don't test out new clubs on birthdays) would've made me miserable. It's always good times with you guys. Always!

("just one minute-o"..."one menudo?"..."nude Kideo?") *lol* Nude Kideo? Must be some sort of air in the car at these times...must be. It.................must.......................be.....................the........air.

Yesterday I went snowboarding with my sister. Her, her boyfriend and Terry's friend were teaching me how to snowboard on the (very) baby hill. Like, one of those little hills that are big enough to grow one tree...baby hill. So it all went well for half the day. Went inside, ate lunch, chilled.

Then me and my sister go back out to the bunny hill and she says to me, "It's alright now that you sort of know what you're doing to just go straight down the hill, without swerving left and right anymore. I think you'll be okay." Okay, so we both hop (dive and fall) off the chair lift, I buckle up my bindings and have time left for one more pep talk. I go right after my sister goes.

I started off slowly...I remembered how to go left and right in case I needed to avoid knocking down a small family or whatnot. Somehow I shoot down the hill, pass my sister at a very high velocity and find myself trying to remember how to stop but somehow that makes me go faster. I'm freaking out but eventually I tilt all my weight to one side to try and fall just to stop and instead of falling forward I fall backward. On my ass. I bounce up in the air and land back down winding myself and land on my wrist and back. I slide down the hill head first for a few metres until my sister clad in blue boards up to me like a pro and starts trying to put me back together like it was her fault I took such a dive. lol...it was such a sight. Especially when I did almost the exact same thing when I tried to board down the second half of the hill...

I feel so broken right now. Why do I want to go back and do it again!

I hope everyone had a good time at the Christmas party, I wish I was able to make it. I wanted to leave at 6 to be back for 8 but we ended up staying for the rest of Fear Factor (11pm) so we didn't make it back home until about 1 in the morning. I'm actually just about to take a look at the pictures...

Sunday, December 21, 2003

cgal, there are many descent pics of you.
i love the hair cut.
the cheerleading kicks i think are your trait.

thanks a bunch to marc and amanda for organizing the christmas party.
i think it went really well. a good portion of the ppl left in that gap between diner and partying but that's fine.
The pics of the diner... and drinking... are here.

the thought that my english mark is a fail right now and i cant get ahold of my prof is bothering me.

Saturday, December 20, 2003

happiest birthday to crisscross!
what an adventure (as it always is;)
it all begins in the car ride over-great songs & dancing;)

&there, well, not enough time to write all i could say (damn work!!) buuuut, i think you all feel the same.
great dancing/great laughs/great laughs/and great laughs;)
cam-come onn...you've never seen me that wacky?! hahaha. and i didn't even drink. the cheerleader kicks are so much fun, we should have all stood in line & done them together (we would have fit in well;)

christina-i don't think i've laughed THAT hard in awhile. relgiousexperience/thundercat man was just too much. as was look-alike aidan, supergirl superdancer & gothic 30year old.
there was also "cole" who asked me to "dance with him" but told him that crissy was my partner! bahahahahaa!! soooo good.

the pictures were great cam!
although i always end up looking like a moron in pictures. can i not have one decent one of me!? but i'll admit, the one of me "working christina" as cam put it, is loooovely.

i love you guys!!
it just proves that we can make the most out of every situation.

hope you had fun crissy! & happy bday again, you looked hottttttttttttttt!!!

marc-feel free to 'pull me' anytime. "no daddy, noooooooooooo!!!" (best part: you walking onto the dancefloor when it was somewhat quiet, and thundercat man was doing the yelp "hoo! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!")

all my love-
cgalxoxoxoxoxxx
ps-and the time and the money, the money and the time..
what? naked KIDEO!?!

okay nadine, but it was pretty funny.

awww cammm :'(

take that awful pic of me out

i'll give you 20 bucks ;)

crassy's bday at club279 was rather good. you guys are wacky.
i have never seen cgal playing around so much (cheer leader kicks)

here are the pics....... feel free to add captions
password is hullo.
i may edit some images at another time.

Friday, December 19, 2003

Thanks, guys! You're so cute.

Shit? Yeah...21. And everyone always told me I wouldn't see a day past 18. Boy, were they wrong! Suckers!

I hope everyone's alright and can make it out this weekend. It's going to be packed with lots of partying. Gooooooo party packers! Be safe and like my dad says to me before I go downtown, "stay away from the crowds". lol, well, I'll try....

bonne fête, crissandra!!!

looks like you ppl missed your chance.

Happy (offical) Birthday Crassy!

see you later! wo0p, wo0p.

Thursday, December 18, 2003

I get dibs on 12:01

Happy Birthday Crissandra! :)

stina, i believe he sang but he was on stage very shortly. only 1 or 2 songs.
woah, out of your fave albums the only who i havent listened to are the unicorns.
at the show there were alot of jokers. suzana was explaining that her dad was a unitarian, and asked if anyone knew what that is. someone yelled out, "they belive in unicorns". haha.

hannah was at brendan benson too? was she just there or was she playing?

"eowyn and that brother of boromir get together. :)"
they are together during the lil ceremony at the end.

another error,
ppl on fire do not run 200 meter sprints.

ahh...the dears are gonna be on the toronto show tonite. can somebody tape it for me?? pleeeaaase???

fave albums of 2003 (that i've heard so far, anyway):

heart -- stars
who will cut our hair when we're gone? -- the unicorns
shine a light -- the constantines
hail to the thief -- radiohead
truthfully truthfully -- joel plaskett emergency
elephant -- the white stripes
gone gone gone -- the new deal

stuff not from this year (more likely late last year):

life stories for minimum wage -- cuff the duke
you forgot it in people -- broken social scene (took me awhile, but i finally came around)
faces down -- sondre lerche
means and ends -- matthew barber
lapalco -- brendan benson

hannah sung was at the brendan benson show, too.
yeah, andrew spice is queer. he's got a beautiful voice. did he sing last night??

a lot of the stuff left out of return of the king is gonna be on the dvd. i read that the uncut version is about 4 hrs and 10 mins long! i hope they'll also have the scene where eowyn and that brother of boromir get together. :)

songs (not necessarily from 2003) i've been listening to constantly this year:

we've been had -- the walkmen
french diplomacy -- boy
silver dagger -- joan baez
divorce song -- liz phair
permanent daylight -- radiohead
true love waits -- radiohead
a distorted reality is now a necessity to be free -- elliott smith
this charming man -- the smiths
love will tear us apart -- joy division
lizzy (dienu) -- ben kweller
peter pan -- deadbeat decade (or sean fitz)
elevator love letter -- stars
look up -- stars
anthems for a seventeen year-old girl -- broken social scene
hobo night stalker -- cuff the duke
ballad of a lonely construction worker -- cuff the duke
volcano -- damien rice
the way we get by -- spoon
metarie -- brendan benson
put me back together (so delicately) -- matt barber
and all my guilty pleasures i listed awhile ago

now that i'm awake...

slean was adorable but she was really nervous and shy yesterday. She ran of stage rather quickly and when she came on stage with oh suzana she didn't want to play the solos. 1nc she refused and another time she wouldnt return to the stage *l*
i got to meet hannah from muchmusic. marc was bugging me to take a pic with her but i didnt bother her for that. she seemed really friendly. the ppl in the crowd were rather nice (and accordign to marc smelt nice aswell) haha. we made freinds with a musician in line (david porteous) and saw sarah at the bar when we entered. i didnt talk to her again. my flash blinded sarah in one pic (she wasnt playing) and i turned it off for most the emm gryner pics. lol i didnt take any pics of her band bc i'm horrible, the lighting, and distance =p. i liked what she played and an esscentric fan "fireman" was behind us crackin jokes with her. emm had fun at the end wrapping the band in caution tape.

stina, it was just the girl from the stars. i don't know if 'hot guitar man' was there or not *l*. andrew spice was the bit of a queerish looking fellow who played piano with emm gryner right? he was good and he leant the fake piano for the night. haha and sarah slean has stated that Radiohead is her faveourite band and covers a couple of there songs =p

speaking of covers, sarah covered I'll never smile again :*( and emm did Song2. she talked about damion not liking her version saying in a british accent "that girl seems terribly confused to what the song is about".

LOTR, it had a few mistakes or places it decided to stray away from the book.
"fire" instead of "loose" on unleashing arrows
gollum's last scene was really poorly done. (the other computer graphics were great)
legolas's stunts on the oliphant =/. cheezy
they didn't need that gollum start..... maybe just the murdeur.

they didnt show that the stewart of minas trith had a wizard ball thing. (it was referenced)
they didn't show sam put ON the ring
frodo and sam didn't end up marching in disguise with an orc army
they left out saruman (the old white wizard) and his last tricks...
the shire was not if flames and disorder like in the book from saruman last tricks.
- it should have been seeing frodo had seen that in his visions.
saruman and wormtoung's conclusion was left out.

There were some other parts they left out but i didn't mind them doing so. The rest of the movie I liked a fair bit dispite it being so long.

OVERALL it was a long day.... which we ended at deny's with some familuar folk.

Chris, that's perfect. I don't want to head downtown tomorrow until like 9 or 10. I was saying 9 pm to everyone until I realised that if we all actually got there at 9 we'd be the first ones in the club and I know how much we love being "those guys" that are the first ones in.

Cgal, I hope you guys can make it! I'll try to make your arrangements so this works out. If anything it won't be that bad because Dundas subway station is literally right across from 279 so there won't be too much unnecessary walking and such (walk? for leisure?!).

The Milkshake song is definitely catchy. After the first time you hear it you already know the whole chorus!

*lol* Marc you don't understand how hard I laughed at your shampoo story "i kept on touching my hair and smelling my hands" *lol* holy crap...that's hilarious

What'd you guys think of Return of the King? I thought it just kinda concluded things...like it was supposed to, being the "final" instalment. Can anyone describe the very last scene to me? Of course, after everyone's seen it as to not spoil it for anyone. That part confused the hell outta me...I still don't get it.

I read most of the latest issue of Thirst. It looks really good! Good job on the a&e section. I can tell most of the editing you did on my article was near toward the end. I wrote the whole thing in one shot and you can kinda tell. Started at midnight (so I was still okay) and ended around 4 am (blocks of the piece are missing *lol* which I almost thank you for removing). Good job on the cd review, too. I'm really liking it.

Friday night 9-10 pm @ 279. Don't forget! :)

you guys saw andrew spice play too, last nite?!?? daaaaaammmmit. i love him, and i've wanted to see him play for such a long time now. i sorta know one of the girls who put on that show last nite, and she co-manages him or something. yeah, i knew amy millan (from stars) was gonna be there--did you spot any of the other band members (don't know if you know what they look like)?

yay, marc and cgal for agreeing w/ me. it's brilliant if it can be that catchy. pitchfork agrees w/ me, at least. they listed "cry me a river," too. and "hey ya." and "move your feet"! they might be mean, but they've got some pretty great taste. which is almost my taste.

DANNY MICHEL playing show's in JANUARY?! i love you christina!!!! i signed up to recieve notices from his website *geek alert!* but haven't even gotten any. and @ the rivoli.....wowwww. going to them all! thank you woman! oh, and agreed, the milkshake song is catchy & hilarious to dance to;)
&i never doubted you and your mmc knowledge for a moment. of course you'd still know it all:D

crissy-not one but TWO emails!? alright, you're forgiven;) (was i ever mad?) sounds good! i think i'm up for that, joel will probably be too (just not for the driving part;)

off to toronto w.my brother:D

i'm to tired to blog about LOTR, slean, and all
The pictures can speak for the moment.
stina, a girl from the stars opened but i didnt take any pixs of her. she was good, as was everyone.

crass, i think im in. i was there haloween nite with rach. it's nice and has the rock music in a cleaner place.
i did get your email... just now. i hadnt checked in awhile.

milkshake song is brilliant? wtf
haha it's catchy and sounds like a 1 hit wonder song that could have come out 10yrs ago.

http://www.umbrellamusic.com/artistarchive.php?id=247

nope, no e-mail from ya in my sympatico acct.
i'd like to go, but what time are you heading down? christine & marcin are driving me back on fri, and we're leaving at around 2 or 3, so we won't be back 'til around 6 or 7.

i think it's christina aguilera's b-day today. MMC facts are still imprinted in my head.

What the hell, Hotmail! I sent it to everyone on this Blogger! Ok, screw email.

Cam, I sent it to you. Cgal, I sent it to you...twice (both with different messages. because I love you.) Ok, maybe my Hotmail is screwed, but I know Marc got it? Christina, I sent it to your Sympatico account (I remember you saying you check all your accounts so that address is on my quick list).

Ok, is anyone interested in going to 279 above Hard Rock this Friday (tomorrow)? Fridays are new rock, live on Edge 102. I guess it's kinda the Friday night version of the Saturday night version at the Phoenix. It's pretty inside and maybe we can all eat first at the Hard Rock. How's that sound? Pls lemme know so I can convince some drivers to...drive.

hey, i didn't get no e-mail either. thanks a lot, crassy.

LotR3 was good. not perfect (we found our own inconsistency--first they're on horses, then they're just charging on foot...?!), but i liked it.

and nobody agreed w/ me about that milkshake song being brilliant (or at least catchy...it was on my guilty pleasures list). yeah, well at least eye likes her too!

i really felt like checking the box, when questioned what you do @ concerts, that said "pimp on all the fine ladies and shake my booty" *wink wink.

haha i don't read the sun.
the edge mentioned weeks ago and i searched the net finding this article. it explains everything =p

cgal! you bum. i actually went to your work today to see this rockstarish hair do and you called in sick. i had my camera on me aswell. *kicks you*... with love ;)

the fx visit was pretty good. mr.finamore wasnt there bc they had 24hrs of service the day b4 and left early. anywhoo freddie and i dropped of some food and a card for him and were surprised to see mark and amanduh! chatting with them we see john konchuba. saw a couple of ppl. the school has alot of nice paintings around it. it's really a big school.

nelly live at much was fantastic. (i didnt go but watched it 2 times on tv)

hey rach, i claim lasagna for the potluck. i wanna try brian's recipe. i'm too lazy to e-mail you all.

i called in sick to work.
1/because i really don't feel all too well (my new medicine made me nausious last night & i couldn't sleep) but 2/i really didn't feel like going. so i'm going to lounge the day away in peace.

i wonder if we can grab a whole bunch of tickets for conan, or if we'll all have to go together to get them. stuff like this makes me a madwoman b/c there's always that chance of ::not:: getting in. we gots to go, we just gots to!

cammioli-is it gwennish? lol! yah, it's actually blonde now! really!!!! nooo, i went in, said i wanted deep bangs & shoulder length, the rest was up to him. he said he's been trying to get someone to let him cut their hair in a mullet, cos it's "in" right now; a play on the hairstyle & not actually full-mullet. i said he could do whatever, and he said he loved me, and that what he was doing was a play off 80's hairstyle. i don't know, it turned out rockstarish i suppose;) but no mullet. maybe next time;) i wish i had a camera to show you guys, but i'm still digicam deprived. soon!! (mind you, yesterday was probably the best it'd ever look;)

i can't believe i'm up so early. i have a problem of going back to sleep as soon as i wake up. bother.

thursday i'm going downtown shopping avec my brother & to see LOTR3 w/him as well. aww, a day out with the bro. &i wont be legolas deprived anymore! (i FINALLY watched the 2nd one on sunday!!)

jack black ::is:: one hellofacrazywonderful man.

mmmmmm relaxation.
love you guys.
cgalxxx

cam, why are you reading the sun?! :P anyway, it wasn't actually confirmed yet then--it was today. they didn't have many details about the actual location (elgin) or the correct taping dates then.
i REAAALLLY wanna go to a taping. i wanna try for the friday (feb. 13--valentine's!!!), 'cause then it'll be reading week afterwards.

eww. michelle branch is in maxim. i think she's gone nuts.

jack black is funnee:

go kay go! stay away from the quizs and the reindeers *l*

stina, the conan announcement was made a long time ago... the sun had reports at the start of november =p
it sounds great but i'm sure it will be a nutty rush or a long one to get tickets. i have been keeping an eye out for his guests.

cgal, let's see your hair. is it gwenish?

i cut my hair.
it looks lovely.
&much thanks to von for coming, what a fabulous day.

conan's coming?!!!! i WILL go to this! & i know joel will for sure as well, and my brother. lol hell, let's be the entire audience! let's keep updated on this we MUUUUUUUUST attend!!!!!!! (&if mikemyers is there, i have to go!)
christina: you should see the rufus connection. no, it's alright, i think i'm just insane. i want to go to hillside this year ::forsure::.

my district manager + another district manager + loss prevention will be @ my store tomorrow. know what that means?! a bullshit day filled with stress. but i'll try to smile & think of how crazywicked my hair is (such a change people, such a change) & how i'm going to party it up so much on newyears & how close it is until the time when my cousins from chicago will be coming here. can't wait.

*takes a breath....

crissy: i have the $ for ararat, lemme know when you're working or something, and i can pick it up; or we can all just make a coffee/bubbletea date;) loooove.

cgalxxx

CONAN'S coming to tape in toronto!!! i think it's the week before reading week...i WANNA GO!!! this kicks ass.

and jeremy nasmith's back w/ the national ballet in the nutcracker! yaaay.

hey crissandra, it _was_ the producers opening night on thurs when we passed by the canon.

last thing--paula (english pen pal) just sent this over. it's cute. :)

aww, this kid who sounded 16 just called to do some telecommunications survey. i felt bad for him, so i did it. i had this big urge to lie about everything though. at the end, he wanted my first name to prove to his manager or whatever that he'd done it, and i asked if i could just make it up. :D

wow, lots of b-days coming up. it's gonna be my dad's on the 22nd. and there are some wedding anniversaries, too! i think i remember it being crissandra's parents'...or was it rhea's? my parents have been married for 29 years now. that's a lot of years. yikes.

i still need to DL that video. it's one of my faves.

i liked how meg sat on the speaker aswell.
the accounts appear to be very true as a few ppl have witnessed and posted about it. dotmusic actually wrote tehre article based on quotes from the littleroom message board *l*. they dont state where they got it or anything. the smoking gun has police reports from both parties. had to be something personal bc man, it was brendan benson playing =p.
anywhoo, a fun ws read and sight., note jack's big day off section. shirley and him again. =p.

snow is everywhere.

2morrow im visiting stfx.

wednesday, LOTR and Slean

thurs - dad's bday

friday - Hey, let's go drinking with Crassy

haha, crissandra--i recognize that--frontier psychologist (the avalanches)! :D

i like how meg was just sitting on a speaker drinking her cocktail while it all (supposedly) happened. :) i've read before that jack and the von bondies dude have been having some problems...but who knows. mr. white also used to date marcie...

snow is everywhere. it came pretty late this winter, didn't it? maybe not. i don't know. it just feels like it did.

I've noticed every winter that there's that one guy whom I get into a car with that has a sudden urge to switch to neutral, pull on the hand brake and donut like there's no tomorrow. What's up with that?

Poor Marc...swg. And it wasn't really a question of preference, "would you rather have two livers or two bladders" but really a false statement of fact.

"I thought we had two livers".
"No, it's two bladders, retard!"

What a fucking beautiful day.

("Happy fucking birthday!") *lol*

That's perfect, I think I'll watch a few episodes of the Toronto show just for kicks. I had fun, too. I'm glad you made it down here just in time, Christina! It was an almost perfect flow of events (except for when you missed your bus). It was such a good time, I really think we should cruise around the Distillery district one day...it's really nice there, it's like a whole new wonderful face of Toronto that I've never seen before. A day trip would probably be better so we could see the whole view. But at night all the Christmas lights are on...looks really good. Oh yeah, and I took a picture of Christina next to a Jeep decorated in Christmas lights, too. lol. It was cute.

Last week was f-word-ing crazy. I felt like I was constantly on the go, out every night after work (not just partying) and then I finally had Friday off. I think I slept from 7 pm to 7 am. I woke up at around 4 am due to a text messaging but at that time my body thought it was time to get up and get ready to go to work, anyway, so it kinda balances out. I passed out right after, anyway.

I think having two bladders is a way more crazy theory than having two livers. We already had this discussion and we concluded that Yvonne is a nut. She's crazy in the coconut! (That boy needs therapy).

I'm dying to find out why Jack got into a fight. *Sigh* Brendan Benson, if it was only meant to be.

i saw that on someone else's blogger to stina. i didn't try it bc i thought it would log my name on their blog =p

has anyone else seen love actually yet? i liked it...of course, i've only d/l-ed half of it so far (sadly, the 2nd part) and i think there might be parts missing, so i think i might still try to catch it at the theatre.

i watched stuck on you yesterday which also has liver jokes. the movie is not bad but its fricken long for a comedy.

after i played a great round of min golf and got drunk at boston pizza. i came home right at the same time my parents did so i tried run up to bed before they saw me. they talked to me but my answers i think were jumbled a bit. i woke up at 12:30, rolled over, felt dizzy from that and went to bed til 3pm =p.

my computer was asleep and missed the chemical brothers =(
errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, i hope it was just live at the red rocks.... mixed with videos.
i think i have all of much's interviews with them on tape.

holy crap, i don't think the toronto show thing will air until nearly the end of the month! the constantines were there about 3 weeks ago, and only now is their ep airing! btw, could someone tape their thing tonite?

Friday, December 12, 2003

nelly is very likeable. she listed prodigy as an influence among portishead, beth orton, and jeff buckly.
ahh, i cant believe i dialed the wrong much number.
by the time i realzied the lines were tied and it gave up hope.
meh, it's okay.
she's doing a free song or 2 i think on saturday for the chum family christmas party.

stina ty, il tell my pc to be awake for it.
i hope they show some live footage that i dont have yet or at least the video for Get Yourself High.
That video should have been on there DVD. it's rather good.

im gonna watch a movie now, catch u soon.

the 3rd comedian also wanted to sing "i'm a little teapot" w/ his fist up his ass. he was bonkers.

cam, there's gonna be a chemical bros special or something in place of the wedge tonite.
good luck w/ the nelly furtado thing. :D i like her.

im done exams =D

i actually studied the nelly msg board to help better perpare for any skill testing nelly questions. my guess is the 3 questions are:
1. where she is from, background?
2. name 3 videos of her?
4. what is the name of her new album?

if they ask something else...eek.

yeah, they seem told hold the tapings for a bit before airing them.
crassy you 3rd comedian joke killed me. that's almost a signature quality.

i guess her plan worked.

the constantines?! when? after i get back, hopefully? i don't know if i can endure another taping of that show, though! i think i'd much rather prefer to go to a taping of play! more laidback, i think.
nevermind, i just checked. the constantines already played there. probably last week. so i think yesterday's stuff should air next week. tape it, ppl! i wanna see it!

i have so much shit to do... :(( i could be free right now, but noooo. i like torturing myself for some reason.

anyway, about yesterday.
i totally missed the early bus (that would've made everything much more convenient) b/c the damned cab took YEARS to come, so crissandra and i had to high tail it to the studio after i got there. it was pretty funny--i called criss after i got there and she'd just arrived at dundas and had no idea which way was which, so i had to go over to meet her at sam's, and i somehow managed to find an empty cab at the same time that i saw her, so i yelled for her to cross the street and we jumped in. oh, the action-drama.
we arrived at the studio, got signed in, hung up our jackets, looked for the chips and pop (foood...i was so damned hungry)...i got snubbed by one of the new deal tapers! i think he didn't recognize me or something...he offered me his extra tkt a few days ago, but i didn't need it. oh well. there was quite a variety of ppl there...new deal fans, some older ppl, some highschoolers who feel the urge to look unique...
there weren't a staggering number of ppl, so i'd be interested in seeing how they made it look full on teevee. it was a general admission, standing audience sort of thing, so they made us move around to wherever the action was happening to fill up camera space i guess.
i felt like cattle. more so than at the radiohead taping, 'cause they actually herded us to different areas this time. they also made us clap like crazy at absolutely nothing...it's funny how we can be encouraged to be enthusiastic about something that isn't there...ron sexsmith, for instance. i would've loved to have seen him play, but they were just doing intros for him and we had to pretend to be excited about him being there (he's playing there today, i think).
as crissandra said, they were also throwing free stuff out to us. the only thing i actually wanted was the white-cover ambient tND ep that i don't have yet...but i didn't get it. crissandra was a two-time winner though. ;) as i said yesterday, i'll give you the new cd (gone gone gone) if you want it. i grabbed an extra copy from cfrc (campus radio station).
i'd have to disagree about any live music always being good--i've seen some pretty bad acts before, but the other two performing yesterday were alright. not mindblowing, but they were decent. the house band was pretty good, too--and the dancers! they were fun to watch. although they really didn't seem to know what to do when they danced to tND's last song.
only the 2nd comedian really made me laugh. the housing stories were good. and the bag o'crime thing was greeaat.
it was also interesting to see the host reading the teleprompter--he improvised a lot more than i expected.
as for tND, for the first taping, they only played "a little while" w/ martina _sorbara_ (she's the one who opened for mraz in detroit in jan)--for those of you who didn't read my longass interview w/ darren from a few months ago (ahem, crissandra), she's married to the bassist, dan. to be honest, she wasn't as good as when we last saw her in k-town. she sang the song she sings on the cd (i think she sings on another one as well, but it's like an operatic sort of thing), and i really like the one leslie feist does. it's called "don't blame yourself," and there's a video for it, but i haven't been able to see it yet. when they perform live, martina sings it, and i really thought they were gonna do that one yesterday, but they didn't. crissandra, if you like her, she's got her own cd out called "the cure for bad deeds." it's a different sound, though (singer-songwritery). christine seems to like it--she got it for her b-day from her housemates. :) her merch (from what i remember in detroit) is also really nice. :)
they had to shoot ending segments where all the guests stand on the stage and the house band plays funky outro music (they try to bring audience members up, too), and it was really funny to see the tables turned and watch tND's attempts at dancing for once. :D
after the first taping, it was feeding time for us. we had pizza. crissandra wanted to go for a smoke, so we finally got to check out some of the distillery district. it is WICKED. we need to go back again and really take a look. the buildings have so much charisma, and all the restaurants and shops and art galleries look so cool. i wish we could've explored more.
back to the second taping. tND played 2 more songs (btw, the host's intro was factually incorrect--he said something about how their new album was made by putting together songs from their live shows--that was their last album--this one was totally done in the studio; i saw jamie make a face when he said that--btw, jamie looked good last night!), and that's probably the last time we'll see 'em for a while now. i'm gonna miss seeing 'em play live; they really are talented. i saw darren off at the side after they played, and i passed by him, but i didn't really know what to say. i also saw him out by the jackets after the taping (he was also there while we were eating pizza). what can i say? i'm shy in these situations! maybe if i didn't have all this school shit on my mind i would've been less inhibited (and feeling less guilty). who knows.

so we leave the studio and head down front st. front st. actually has a lot of character, too. they have all those pretty white christmas lights up everywhere. it's lovely. we spot a rogers video, and just for laughs, we head inside to check it out. it's friggin' meticulously organized in there!! amazing. hate to say it, but it would put our bristol store (315?) to shame. :D they even had PV dvd's for $5.99 just 'cause they didn't have their proper cases! there were good movies there, too! maan.
thanks again for coming w/ me, crissandra! it was fun!

i've missed toronto.

Oh and this Chai Latte...sucks.

Last night was so much fun. Christina and I made it to what looked like the middle of nowhere that turned out to be the residence of the Toronto Show. The New Deal played three of their songs, the first with Martina Sarcoma (?)something (Christina will remember) singing the vocals. It sounded sooooo good. I hope there's a lot more of her singing the vocals on Gone, Gone, Gone. tND are always going to be one of those groups that sound way better live than on their cds but since they'll be away for the next year my cds are all that I'll have.

I really enjoyed Leah Jane (if that's what I heard correctly?) and the Golden Dogs but then again it could be just because it was live and no matter what music always sounds good live.

Anyway, Enis Esmer's (the host of the Toronto Show) quick skits were actually pretty funny as were two of the three comedians that performed. The first "comedian" was just wrong and politically incorrect what with all his stereotypical Chinese accents and making fun of Germans. The second was really funny and the third one just blew me away. I didn't think that anyone could make a joke about tapeworms so hilarious "My doctor was going to give me something to terminate it but then I thought, No... This is a life growing inside me. And I'm deciding to keep it." Hilarious, I want to see it when they play it on Toronto One.

Aside from the performances, I made away like a bandit by catching a Golden Dogs tank top "*Weird surprised look*....YEAH!!", . And one of those Puma key chains that you wear around your neck. When G-Stokes (the crowd pep talker) was throwing out the Puma chains into the audience he was looking for people that kinda wanted free stuff and no one really responded or was paying attention, lol. So I slowly put my arms in the air real quietly and he ends up throwing one unmistakeably in my direction. (Boo ya!) I tried to catch the tND EP for you, Christina. But Tall Guy got in my way of catching the other tND album that I kept on thinking was the EP. If that stupid guy wasn't in my way - or a foot shorter - it would SOOOO have been mine.

I hope Chris gives a better review, I'm way over my lunch break.

And I just nonchalantly punched a pillar by accident. Hopefully, my supervisor didn't notice that I'm a clumsy idiot (*bang!*) with bad estimation of the space around me but I'm really hurting.

Seriously...

Thursday, December 11, 2003

the constantines will also be guests on the toronto show.
i saw wisconsin on it tonight and a pretty bad comedian. the last act was a live jazz/jungle style band, Brownman & GRUVASYLUM. not bad. pilote was on the mike bullard show the other day aswell.

rach, exams are almost done for me.
hope you feel well soon. better to be sick this weekend then last.

anyone free this weekend? i think i might be going to havana. there is also a hardcore party with $2.50 drinks, $5 cover. ummm but it's hardcore!

Is there any way you can meet me at Union instead? I'd love to say that although I've been to the bus terminal on Bay and Edward on more than one occasion that I'd find it by myself, but I'd be lying. From Union we can walk along Front Street until we get to the Distillery District (or take a cab for the rest of the way when we get tired).

Or is there somewhere in the middle we can meet without having to take the TTC there first? (I'm coming off the GO to Union).

I haven't read your whole post but I'll get to that later. (I like the Justin crowd one too)

p.s. crissandra, i think the pics should be okay. i especially like the justin/crowd one.

okay, 4:30 sounds perfect. i meant the terminal you guys dropped me off at last time...on bay and edward. my bus should arrive at around 4:20. do you know how to get there by subway? get off at dundas (eaton centre) and walk towards the world's biggest bookstore...lemme know if that's okay or not.

just got back from hot hot heat/french kicks/the unicorns. fun show. the turnout was pretty good, and there were a lot of familiar faces there, too. wesley was taking pics for the paper, dave was reviewing the show (btw--apparently he somehow found this blog?! wtf??? hi dave, if you're reading. scary. he said he read a few posts about my love for mayer...hahahhahaha....i wonder what he was searching for in the first place?! and alison somehow found something of mine online, too. jesus. i might have to find a new moniker. i need to go back underground.), alison and a friend of hers was there, another guy who writes for a&e, some guys i recognize from english classes...it's funny--this one guy who was in my cdn poetry class keeps popping up unexpectedly--he was on the same bus back to k-town that night we went to see the WS (i wonder if he went to the show...?)--ran into him at the terminal here and it was something like 3:30 in the morning! he was at the show, this guy who works at cfrc named stu (apparently he booked hot hot heat's first 2 shows here)--he's got a cute dog...shit, i didn't go to volunteer today--oops.
anyway, onto the show--we arrived after the unicorns had already started. they are weiiird. they were wearing pink uniforms or something. one dude had a pink cape on. their songs are pretty good though...i like their recordings, anyway. got the cd. they can be mean to the crowd sometimes, but they were pretty decent to us tonight.
next were the french kicks, who were the ones i was really looking fwd to. it's crazy--one of the guitarists really looks like the guitarist from cuff the duke. they've gotta be relatives or something! anyway, i like the singer. wesley got good pics. i want them. they were entertaining. the singer was taking the snowflakes hanging from the ceiling and throwing 'em out at us. he was also drinking a glass of wine, a bottle of beer and water as well. gotta love those ny boys. i bought a shirt off the CTD-guitarist-lookalike afterwards. it's pretty strange, 'cause their shirt looks like it should be the unicorns'--it has the rainbow from the unicorns' cd and a silhouette of a unicorn on it.
after their set, the house started playing some of my fave songs--the walkmen's (they're on the same label as the french kicks--that label has some damned good taste) "wake up (radio)" and the smiths' "this charming man"! i recently made a kickass (if i do say so myself) mix cd, and both those songs are on it.
after awhile, hot hot heat came on. recently, i haven't been as into them as i was last year (when i bought their entire discography), but they put on an awesome show. their energy was fantastic, and they played every song off their knock knock knock ep (which is the only thing that i truly love of theirs), so i was happy. some ppl were going psycho dancing. it was fun to watch 'em. of course, they played "bandages" as their last song before the encore, and ppl went berserk. i'm glad i went to see 'em tonite.
it's pretty cool that they came here, since they're getting pretty big now. i'm actually surprised at how quite a few really wicked bands come to play here every now and then. i guess i'm lucky i came here as opposed to, say, waterloo or something. :P

Cgal, that's amazing! You're story's so inspiring. I'm glad you had such a good time, I believe every concert should take everyone away as much as Arab Strap did for you. Isn't it great when bands sound better live than they do on their actual cds? Coldplay take me away every time. That's awesome. I got the tingles during your story!

I never noticed the song I'm So Tired on the Beatles' White Album. I've felt that way so many times in my life. A little late for this song but it's almost as if they read my mind and wrote a song about it. "You know I can't sleep, I can't stop my brain / You know it's three weeks, I'm going insane / You know I'd give you everything I've got / for a little peace of mind,". I love this album just that much more.

Chris, I scanned the pics. There's three of them. They're really not that great but hey it fills space, right? The thing I love about these pics is that it goes from bright daylight, sunset, sundown. And Justin, AC/DC, Stones respectively. Ok, here's the dealy-o. Which bus terminal are you talking about? The one at Union? I sent you an email to your Sympatico (as I did with the Stones pics) about meeting up around 2:30 but I"ve got a lot of crap to do that I didn't get around to today so I think the original plan of 4:30 is perfect. How does that sound?

thanks for offering to encode, cam!! don't miss it!!

i don't like cuff the duke. i loooove them. dammit, i wish you'd found out about it sooner!! pilate's okay too i guess.
i dunno...i don't think i see the rufus wainwright connection. :P
if we're all not going anywhere this summer, i totally think we should all head to hillside. it'd be so much fun w/ more ppl camping out together.

CRISSANDRA--what's going on w/ tomorrow? is the bus terminal arrivals meeting place okay? and the time? and what about rach? oh, and pictures! scan 'em and send 'em! you're the last thing i'm waiting for and then i'm done w/ the section!

cgal, that's the first long story post i have seen of yours in a long time.
nice :). i kept reading "NO TAX!" as "no taxi". I think it's bc in caps the exclamation mark is the same size as all the other characters and flipped over it is an I. you also mentioned the yellow paper a line earlier which makes me think yellow taxi. i'm a nut.

my social psych exam had a short answer question which was, "how would you go about becoming a cult leader?"
It felt a bit nutty confidently going about that answer. i recommend that class.

this friday i think marc and i are gonna celebrate exam a bit. *drink*
also im going to try and call in to win nelly wristbands. she's on much this tuesday.
THIS tuesday i also want to visit STFX to see mr.finamore. anyone else interested? let me know.

stina, il probally get a chance to encode it.
i'm hosting sarah sleans preformance on play right now.
Sarah Slean - I'll Never Smile Again
*save target as*

mmm hot hot heat. i want to go just to dance it up:)
you like 'cuff the duke' right? they played a show at my school ::for free:: with pilate, & i didn't know until i read it in the schools newspaper.
ok so nathan lawr is the eversoadorable singer-do you agree he looks/sounds like rufus w.wright? or am i just mad!?
last night definitely gave me the courage to hit up a show alone, if necessary;)
i wish you didn't have to be there either:(

cgal, i'm so happy for you! i'm glad you went!!
"it pleased me to know that if i had gone alone, i wouldn't have felt odd & would have been welcomed."
SEE??? i told you!!! :))
nathan lawr was one of the ppl in the group singing and playing guitar beside our tent at hillside, 'cause jason collett's family was camped out beside us. :D he's also a drummer.
awww...i wish i didn't still have to be here.
although tonite i'm going to see hot hot heat/the french kicks/the unicorns w/ christine, wesley, erin and the a&e crew. hope it's good.

btw, can somebody tape the toronto shows this weekend?? i think they play it on thurs, friday and saturday...i'd love you forever!!

my love for music & the little moments in life was inhanced greatly because of last night.

my exam went AWFUL. the first part of it was on the reading's i hadn't looked over so i bullshit the entire part A. part B i did well on (i think) but i took too much time to write it, leaving me little time to complete part C, the essay. so it was rushed & doubt it made much sense. but you know what? i couldn't care LESS!

&here's why:
-went home, called joel to confirm if we were going to the show & he said yes. so i went to tmaster got the tickets for arab strap, went home, ate, got changed, and left
-parking was right near 'lee's palace' and a + of it being on a weeknight was that we only paid $5
-the vibe as soon as we walked in was incredible. the guy checking id's was pleasant & smiled, &so was the lady taking tickets. the crowd was relaxed and laughing (unlike the typical uptight crowds i often see)
-joel got up to get a drink/go to the washroom & i was approached by a guy (who i later found out worked for the band) he was like 'hi. yeah, hi. i just wanted to say hello to everyone since tonight is the last show, and wanted to say hi to anyone who was alone" so nice. we then started talking about the scarf he was wearing, it was knitted with "paris & nikki hilton" stiched into it and i asked him why in the hell he had their names stiched. he said he made it for a friend who wanted it & thought it was the most tacky thing but was really funny (it was). he also stiched his shirt. i was impressed! so he told me that if he could do it, and if i found any older lady,i could do it too. really reallly nice. it pleased me to know that if i had gone alone, i wouldn't have felt odd & would have been welcomed.

malcom (member of arab strap) started the night off with his own material: him sitting on a chair, the mic, and a guitar. it was breathtaking to witness; incredible how one man & one instrument could make such powerful music. it was gorgeous & i was in AWE.

the second band, Nathan Lawr (getting this info from the site so not sure if it's correct..the singer never even said who they were!) was honkysweet-rock, & i was bobbing around & laughing to the tunes. the sound was there, and that's what i love about smaller venues & shows you don't pay so much for : the music is quality. you get what you paid for and then some! i was convinced the singer was rufus wainwright's twin because wow did they ever look & sound the same. took some pictures, i hope they turn out.

&arab strap..not sure what to say, because i don't think any words pieced together could justify what was heard and experienced last night. i can't say that i've seen many bands who sound better LIVE than they do on their albums..but arab strap is such an exception. blown away, in awe, in love, it was incredible. the sound that they create, it all fit together so well, and the vibe was powerful. it was all made the merrier with bits of scottish humour thrown in, aidan prancing on stage waving like a pagent queen, later explaining that when the saw the caridgans (i didn't even think they were still around!) the singer is so pretentious she always did the wave when walking on stage. aidans was much more humourous though, as he walked on with two beers shoved in his front pockets. a true scot!! he even had a bottle opener tucked nicely in his back pocket; there to take out every couple minutes or so, so he could down another drink. to hear his words in person, his poetry melting into the crowd..it was ecstasy.
a guy in the audience even screamed out 'sarsfree!' at one point, & aidan laughed saying 'oh..please don't bring that up'. nice. but last night was worth the wait..and i'm thrilled that i went. suprised in myself that i got up to go & i'll definitely be doing this more often.

&to top off my day (which occured just before my exam) i was strolling through school to the bookstore with my friend, when i saw "BILLY TALENT AT THE UNDERGROUND" on bright yellow paper. jan.7th for $8 advanced. i called yvonne, freaking out, &in haste purchased 4 tickets. &the bonus, NO TAX! so 2 tickets totalled to $16, which is the price that the tickets are going for to catch them at the warehouse now (which would have been +tax & the venue is far too big anyway!) so billy talent, upclose and person right when school hits back.
&another plus? andy stochansky the next week ::for free::
the new year is going to be lovely.

cheers to those who read that;)

cgalxxx

(ps: matt morris ... a cd?! did you check out the 'stache on the cover?! (am i seeing this correctly?!) wow. mmc DOES got it going on..funky styles! if you purchase that i so need to hear it.
oh yah and the complete works of oscar wilde? niiiiiiice. i should pick myself up a copy, he's brilliant:)

Tuesday, December 09, 2003

lol, well i was browsing through a thread and it seemed like they were a repeating name.

portishead, finoa apple, massive attack, were a few others i noticed (bc i like them).

slean herself is a bit of RH fan. she went to the ampatheater show and is listed in a few places as a musical interest of hers.

cold mountain pics of jack in brown are out.

anyone else watching 24, leafs, or raptors? i was fighting my tv.

sarah slean - radiohead? i think not.

btw, matt also helped christina aguilera write half her album. and he wrote that kelly clarkson "miss independent" song, too. no wonder i liked it so much. ;P justin timberlake also wrote a song on matt's album. i love the connections!

i wonder why ppl into mayer and mraz seem to have been into MMC before, too.

awww, were u looking for those?
i found them when blogger was acting up on me.

crassy, how did you see return of the king?
mraz and mayor go hand in hand. i like seeing how some fans seem to click with another band.
white stripes - bob dylan
prodigy - chemical brothers
allison crowe - jewel
tND - phish
sarah slean - radiohead

archives can be found here. i think it'd be fun to wade through all this junk.

hahaha...crissandra--tons of ppl have the same interests as me, i guess. :D yeah, matt's cd is actually pretty good--you can hear it on his site. did i tell you he e-mailed me a few times?! he opened for justin timberlake on his tour for a few dates, too! oh, MMC.

if anyone else is interested in going to see tND's final T.O. appearance for a while on thurs, i know a guy who has an extra tkt. lemme know if you're interested!

crissandra--how 'bout we meet at the bus terminal if you're taking transit down? i'll take the 11:15 am bus, so i'll get there at around 2:15. do you know where the arrivals area is? i think i know how to get to the distillery, so you can just go w/ me then. :) is rach still interested in coming? and i'm not going back home that night...i have to head back again after the show. :( i won't be back for the holidays until yer b-day. oh, and i won't have a phone, so you'll just be getting phone calls from me if there are problems!

haha that's cool. i read the movie mistakes on the LOTR the two towers as soon as i saw that movie. they have errors up on debut night =p. the responses and aftermath of it all are pretty cool.

i only have 2 exams left and im free til thursday.

saying bye to ppl really is the saddest thing this far. forces you to kind of formaly put a classify where things are and where they are going. a girl in my social psych class who i have like all year told me today that this weekend she is going back to barbados... to stay. fack. the girl is to funny and even when she is cursing it's rather cute with the accent.

UTMers, do u know if Prof Green might be at humber? i think i'm looking at him right now through this lab's window.

Oh my god Matt Morris is coming out with a cd? That's just weird... Expected. But weird... lol, "Customers who bought this title also bought: In the Zone - Britney Spears, Waiting For My Rocket to Come - Jason Mraz, Heavier Things - John Mayer." Hmmm...sounds a little suspicious.

I saw RETURN OF THE KING last night!!! Damn...! (lol Yvonne) It was so funny, aside from the movie that is, when they showed close ups of the fellowship (is that right?): Stryder ("Daaamn!"), Legolas ("Daaamn!!!")... Gandalf ("Day-amn!"). Probably had to be there, huh... Anyway, I can't wait for everyone to see it. Merry and Pippin are at their finest. Sooooo cute. Some crazy ass shit'yall!

I post too much.

pretty funny!

stina, i was wondering if you heard about the uptown. crazy shit.

the whitestripes WBC DVD bonus dvd is availble just by itself. I saw it online selling that way.
hymmmmm and if you get the complete works of Gondry then you pretty much have it all (less hand springs, layfette blues).
i'm interested in the cold mountain soundtrack. asking you in advance if you would like to see that movie =p. i have been binging on the WS for awhile.

crassy, 'oh' =o

++ tND show and things pretty good. hope you girls have fun.

marc, good job on 'gettin it in'. that hotdog thing was creepy. how do you think you did?

odk, hope you made it home. i hate that time where i'm standing waiting to leave with no one to talk to. i always get jumpy and slowly go nuts =p. hope things start going good for you. no nye plans yet.

i wanted to get wristbands for nelly furtado at much but i fell asleep as soon as i got home. wrote 2 exams today and they went well. i went hardcore studying on the 2nd one. i have 2morrow morning which i have notes for but havent studdied yet for. i should be alright with that... and forseeably with everthing else left :)
the most interesting bit is been saying goodbye to ppl. hopefully i will be seeing a few next semester or even during the break.

Monday, December 08, 2003

cool. so do you wanna meet somewhere at 4:30?
man, they're only gonna be playing for about 20 mins. oh well, it's the last time we'll be seeing 'em for a while.

have you guys heard about the uptown collapsing and ppl getting hurt and/or caught inside? that's so sad...i loved that theatre...

for anyone interested, my wishlists. ;P

I misspelled "F" with a 5. It's definitely almost time to go home...

I probably won't make it until 4:30 or so. Wed and Thu are like my weekend, it's my only time off to do everything people normally do on the real weekend!

marc, that test sounds insane!! kate was an inspections officer back in BC for the past 2 summers...i wonder if she had to do the same thing...?

yaay, ppl who are free on thurs should come w/ us!! the distillery district looks preeettty. but hurry up and get yer tkts already. great, so i can come earlier than i expected if you've got the whole day off, crissandra! what time do you wanna start?? there's also a bakery thing i wanna check out there...but definitely that 1832 restaurant. and some stores...and there are art galleries everywhere...yaay.

Thanks, Christina. :) The buses' "routes" were actually on their way to 'boredom' and 'nowhere'. Cam was probably the only one that noticed, lol. "crassy, did have nice buses". And the "nice pair of headlights", "nice buses", "look at those blinkers", etc. I'm actually done work at about...oh wait, that's right, I have the day off! Boo ya. So we can cruise around the Distillery district for as long as your little heart desires. I'm really excited! I've just hooked up my scanner so now I just have to scan the pics. I'll do that tonight, I'll email em to ya.

Lol every time I tried to just put my head down and close my eyes for 3 seconds Rach would open her big mouth and say something stupid enough to make me laugh. After laughing I'd close my eyes again and then she'd say something else. lol. I remember a lot of 'your mom' jokes but that was sorta consistent throughout say the last month or so. (Close my eyes) "Valhalla...Valhalla..." lol. "Holiday Inn...Holiday Inn..." "Studio 6...Studio 6..." I think Rach was trying to get me to a hotel. Either that or she was pretending to know how to read the signs on the highway. lol. :)

Marc, lol. That just about seems right. Musta been a joke just for us. That eyebrow ring story made me cringe. Good luck on your exams! And thank you, too, for finding the inner spectacle in all of us (me). I'll show you priceless!

At least I'll know never to yell "help" when Cam's taking pictures. Eugh. How unnatractive!

Rach, there's definitely gotta be tickets left for tND. They're free, btw. Look for the link (it'll take me too long, everyone just went to a status meeting so I took this to my advantage to tell you how much I lovelovelovelovelove! you. Valhalllllla. and tell you that tix are free, just make reservations through the link. 7 and 9 pm but we'll explore starting early afternoon?)

Oh god that's hilarious "why does Andria oh you cheese cake" *lol*

funny things is we were more sober then usual. i dont know how crassy was able to post the picture seeing they dont allow that most the time (and that was password protected). =p

crassy, did have nice buses. i would have helped u crassy but the camera was flashing as were movin in. your in so many of the pics. there is one with u and rach that i took right as the strobe flash hit you. kinda neat.

cgal- thanks for the comments. imagestation is still down and i had to trick it into allowing me to add the images.
(seeing her was a pleasent surprise, she seems well)

we missed out on play. boo.

i need sleep, 3.5hrs of it. nite

oh my god you guys were so damned drunk. :D i like that shirt you're wearing, crissandra!! btw, did you scan the pics yet???
i miss the phoenix and other clubs that don't suck ass...there is not a lot of variety here in k-town. :(

hmph. so guess what? this past episode of play was the last live taping they're doing for the year. :(( they don't start again until i go back to school in jan. daaaaaaammmmmiit!!!

also--crissandra, what time do you get off work on thurs? i wanna explore the distillery district since we're gonna be there anyway! it looks wicked...maybe we can have dinner at the pasta bar thing called 1832...it looks pretty cool and seems affordable...

Oh my god those pictures are hilarious!!! Aw, such good times.

(He fuckin' scared me! Who wouldn't 'want out'. The initial shock of some stranger suddenly bear hugging me and then slapping my ass four times 'til it was sore isn't something I take that lightly...usually. Aw, but I see Yvonne's little hand attempting a rescue...thanks man! *tear*)

This one made me laugh so hard...so much is happening in one shot (watch Rach's subtle wandering eyes):

Sunday, December 07, 2003

awwwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwwww wwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!
those pictures made me happy and sad. i'm so sorry i was sick to miss out on what looked like a stellar night!
cam-i tried to leave you a comment but it wouldn't work! blast them! so here i go (mind you, my comment was 'so much to say, i'll write on blogger'lol):::
rach-you looked like a HOT (drunk!) russian whore! slaminoutfit woman! *grrrr..21 here rach comes!*
- the one of rach kissin will made me laugh so hard
-von, you wore *our* jacket. aww, it looks lovely on you!! told you to buy it! mmmmmm!
-nadine, is that your boyfriend? you guys are fucking cute! if not, you still look fucking cute!!;)
-crissy, did you KNOW that guy hugging you!? lol looked like no? omg the guys at phoenix. high class (drunkeness that is)
-the one w/rachie & the hands look like a group orgie, a-la brittneyspears 'im a slave' video
-cam.....ELENORE?!?!?!??!?!!!!!! enough said;)

alright PLAY is a must then. we'll get our act together on this one and will definitely definitely go. fucking sarah slean, being there when we could have been. arrrgh. it's alright, there'll be good acts because damnit, there has to! &if not, we'll be the act, cos hell, we're all getting drunk;)

cam-yes,we all have these shows & omgomgomg i want to see arabstrap so bad ever since the show with bright eyes got cancelled *oh christina, we would have had such fun*

i'm avoiding studying to the max.
can you tell?
i'm SCREWED.

but hey
thanks for the pics cam..good laughs!

Rachs phoenix bday pix
as before the pass is "hullo". it seems like a softcore porn photo journal. (words like that probally draw more hits to blogger).

stina, you can play euchre (and spell it)! that's cool. andria should have contested the contract right away as her drunkeness could have made it invalid. too late now.

i'm in for hitting PLAY! this season. i missed emm and slean on it but it always looks good.
i read a most embarassing moment of sleans posted. it was rushing on stage to play a show in a skirt less the underwear. does one actually ever forget such a thing?

cgal, glad joel is going with you
well all have these shows in mind.

"how many footprints posters does a boy need" - hank, king of the hill

i think i've managed to get joel to come w.me to arab strap. i thiiink. i know you'd come too, wish you were here! do you know if you can buy tickets from opera house? i don't know when i'm going to find time to make it to rotate this for tix & tmaster is far too expensive. play&the shoe museum a ::must:: when you're back. we'll find time somehow!!!!:D

i'm so jealous of your university experiences & the beauty of where you live.
go york? umm...wow no.

i knew it was me 'cause i knew i was sitting on the couch next to 'em that night. those 3 are andrew (photo editor), emily (assistant news ed) and dave (a&e ed). and i can see it's my shirt. :)

andria owed me cheesecake 'cause she lost a drunken bet we made awhile ago. we were at christine's and she bet that mike and christine would win euchre over erin and suzanne, and erin and suzanne won. :)) bad judgement on her part. ;P

im paying more attention to slean now. she has a video of a few concerts of hers online. im working on stealing them *grins*

stina, how did you find yourself in the 2nd pic?
it seems like a nice place...

... why does andria oh you a cheese cake? say hello to her from me/us plz.

rachs bday pics are pretty funny. i would have them up but the imagestation is just updating right now.

snatch is on right now :)

Saturday, December 06, 2003

aww, cgal, i'd go w/ you to arab strap, but i'm saving my toronto trip for tND on thurs. :( but you should go even if you don't find anybody!! it'll be an experience for you! and there's a great bench on the balcony of the opera house that's the perfect place to watch the show.

i'm up for play, anytime after i get back...i've been dying to go to one of those shows. we'll have to fit in a bata shoe museum trip as well.

heehee...journal ppl are on the mybar (k-town bar) website...here (you can see my eyes) and here (you can see my apparat organ quartet shirt).

im going to arab strap alone because i can't find anyone to go with me.
i really really really reallllllllllllllllllly want to attend.
oh delima. maybe i'll just purchase joel a ticket.

crissy:: thanks millions! i'm sorry i couldnt attend the magic of tonight (blasted respiratory infection!) but i'll meet up w/you this week to do so:) it's an excuse to get together again, coffee or bubble tea style, woo! yeah, gwen is a true ditz to the -max-. warn him. then run away with him. she's too old;)

we all have to attend a taping of PLAY. did sarah slean fucking ::have:: to be on the week i don't check the site?! lajflekjflkejfses.

rachums: i'm sorry again. but we'll celebrate soon a-la the bubble tea festivities of bricktoast serving as cake (i really just want to try that hunk of bread;)

lots of love and love and love (especially for my russian whore!)
+my twin (love.really.)

cgalxxx

btw, is it only going to be me and crissandra at the toronto show w/ tND this thurs??

and is anyone still interested in the dec. 20 cuff the duke spectacular since marc's christmas thing is the same day??

andria owes me cheesecake from megalo's tonite! w00.

Aw! You guys make me laugh, too. Have I mentioned how much I love you guys? lovelovelovelovelove! (But also no more than her Cgal)

I love how you guys find birth control so hilarious, lol.

Marc, you were probably just surprised with my quick cat-like reflexes you didn't hear me laughing way before Greg Kinnear even said "snatch". I'm trying to decode your nerdo lingo but I'm not getting any luck? Could you cool it up a little so I could understand? lol. *kcchhh*

Sigh. I used to love ET. But now that they're propogating is that a word Chris and Gwen, I can no longer watch it. Ever.

Cgal, I got your Ararat! And I knew Gwyneth was secretly a ditz. I knew it! I ought to warn Chris. I bet he's still blinded by her glitzy glitz and glamourous glamour that he probably has absolutely no clue what he just got himself into. She does have 5 years on him, the poor baby!

Christina, I just have to figure out how to hook up my stupid scanner. But I'll get it right to ya asap.

yeah, it's that movie w/ matt damon and greg kinnear.

i was gonna tell you 'bout sarah slean on play, cam, but i guess you caught it yerself!
STARS on kcrw. i love them. really.

i think i've figured out the animated .gif thing!! so proud...it only took me 'bout an hour. :D even wesley couldn't get it!! so here's the answer:
you'll notice that when there are 13 ppl, there is one more pair of black shoes than when there are 12. this is b/c one of the guys at the top shifts and doesn't join another black bottom piece when it moves from 12 to 13. however, when it moves from 13 to 12, he _does_ join a bottom black piece. so this makes him an extra person when it goes from 12 to 13. but making him an extra person means there has to be an extra bottom to put a top onto when shifting from 12 to 13, so the guy in the front on the very left--you'll notice that when it shifts from 12 to 13, part of his hair moves, but he doesn't get something put on top of him in exchange. this is why the exchange of pieces/space is possible.
does that make sense? it sort of makes sense to me, but i can see how it can be confusing.

anyway, CRISSANDRA--do you think you could scan yer SARStock pics? we need 'em for the article...they don't have to be of the acts, they can be of you there or anything...they just want to get pics of the event.

sarah slean was on play! this week. i was just flipping through and caught her. got it encoded to :) :). lovely song.... i wonder if she came out in a past time if she would have been a chart topper.

i gave up on counting marc. the whole thing of addition and animated gifs.
haha and i forget the movies title... the 2 guys joined together.

i forgot my text in my locker for my monday morning test. its not a big deal compared to my other tests. i might pick it up.

"what's a four letter word for snatch"
"grab"
"...ohhhhhhhhhh"

haha, it took me a second to figure why he said grab too.

tv has been cracking me up. just for laughs has awesome gags.

crassy, i ET has a bunch of chris and gwen stuff. like him giving the baby a kiss.

cameron-you knew what i was talking about.

crissy-birthcontrol! you don't say! lol. (love) you bought a disposable camera when i mention needed a camera. wow. twins indeed.considering you haven't bought one in such a long time...crazy! sounds good about the film, and thank you again:) gweneth paltrow seems like somewhat of a ditz (seeing her on leno) and it angers me when people move to london and begin to talk softer & attempt to act 'english'. it's alright, we'll 'freaky friday' the situation & you can take over her body (excellent) sound good?;)

i need to study. but what i really need is for the christmas break to ::officially:: begin.

nadine-that sounds like so much fun, but that unlimited skiing for 2 thing made me laugh! 8 people but only 2 can ski? i don't get it! don't think i can attend though because 170$ is the kind of cash i don't have:( boo. i don't know though...perhaps?

christina-3 cheers to having worn out brains! mind you, yours is probably worn out due to ACTUAL work while mine is worn out due to sickness & thinking of all the work i have to do;)

and i must say this, although she's never her, yvonne....i LOVE you. (not more than you crissy..shh;) but really. you are the greatest:)

cgalxxx

nadine, what is _two_ ? 2ppl, 2 days?
i'm lost

cgal, headphones, not earphones.... and nm

jmraz has commercial out for his album. not a store, just him.

I'm saying we then try to find at least 8 people to go. lol, I'm still excited.

Of course I have pics, Christina. Not really good ones but some of them are funny in a lame kinda way.
