Right. Another controversial topic? Okay, let's just nip this in the bud and say that obviously this guy should be allowed to take his guy friend to prom, but like Christina said, he should respect the rules of the school. No one likes to think that this is right or fair, but he does go to a Catholic school. If he feels his rights are being violated, take it to another school where they don't have rules against homosexuality.

And if he's going to argue that he should be allowed to attend prom with his friends from school whether he's gay or not, he shouldn't have made such a big deal about taking his boyfriend to prom. I mean, dude, it's called keeping it on the D.L. So, it's not right and he shouldn't have to do that. But let's be real, here...

i think it's more important for the catholic school to support it's students not push them further in the closet. FX added in the daycare not expelling the students who had children. although the catholic church may not support gay marriages and such what is this best thing to do for this Catholic student? i think it is to support him and let him come to terms with his own sexuality. (that's a matter of oppinion but that's what im stating). yeah and this student sure could have hidden the issue but i think he wanted it exposed which is great. i have kept an article from "what" magazine which did a special on gays and prom which i recalled be impressed with.

rach, i think the point of scouts is the creation of (good) straight men. in the days without war they needed the boys to grow up to be masculin. if sexuality is socially constructed (which i'm not positive about) then they have a pretty valid reason for not wanting to have gay members. On the other hand should they be training ppl to be just good men these days and let the rest fall in place? i dont think they should change there activities bc i think they did instal good values and did modle out something pretty good. i dont think having gay scouts should affect the way they carry things out bc they gay scouts have always been there.

okey dokes, about the whole prom thing. you all obviously know that i love gay men (haha), but this issue is kinda hard 'cause it's sort of a religious thing...i mean it's sort of like women not being allowed to sit w/ the men in orthodox jewish synogogues...or muslim women having to cover up and stuff...well, it's kinda like that, anyway...

the thing is, it seems like this guy is trying to make a huge deal out of it...really, he didn't have to ask the principal for "official" permission, did he? i think he would've gotten away w/ it if he hadn't drawn such attention to himself. i think the principal and the school board have the right to say that he can't bring his boyfriend, 'cause it _is_ a catholic school. don't you have to (at least pretend to) follow, or at the very least respect catholic beliefs if you go to a catholic school? isn't that the whole point of going to one? i'm not saying that i agree w/ all catholic beliefs or that there should even be such special attention given to catholics (such as its own school board--but that's a whole other debate). i mean, if the guy has such a problem w/ the church's discomfort w/ homosexuality, why doesn't he go to a public school?

well i know for sure last year there was a prom held just for ppl of gay/bi couples that were not able to come out at there prom.
it was a pretty snazzy event it looked like.

i really didnt think that catholic school board had a say on who your date was for prom. heck at HNM one a girl brought an inflatable man. hymmmm speaking of that prom lots of girls went all together (without boys). so i think this so someone at this school has fucked up. if they didnt want open gay couples that's messed and there is real no way to even discriminate between friends and dates.

i think a better issue is if gay children should be aloud in Scouting? (or leaders). The old ideas of Scouts was to make young boys into Men. Last year the american governement threatened to pull out it's funding of Scout bc it did not accept gay members. I saw this story on the 700 club and they fought for the point that it was the Scouts right not support gays. I'm not sure what the final result was but i know this year they refused to let gay men be scout leaders. i think canada is host to the 1st gay scout troop.
i see having gay scouts only gets tricky when it comes to camping and such but its not a strong enough point for why ppl of different sexualities should not be part of the troop.

I was told it's good for you to heal a soar throat or lost voice. i liked it last time i had it but this was quite a thick drink. i would have kept on drinking it but i found it actually dehydrated me and made me feel rather ill after dancing. i think the last time i heard so many prodigy traxs being spun out in public was when i was bowling and joel had programed the juke box sometime earlier ;). oh and thanx for the dancing complement gal and for inviting us out that nite :)

i've had a shite-arsed week, and my knowing the fact that yvonne is now a john mayer nut has made it all a lot better. :)) and the fact that JM has broken into the billboard 100--he's at 82! faaabuuloous! i will love it when, a year from now, i will be able to gloat and say i knew of him way back before half the world was dying to get a concert ticket...and i got to see him play in a wonderful intimate setting in greenwich village, nyc.

btw, andria--i wanted to be colin from radiohead!!! he's the bass-player...i would want to marry him if he wasn't married already. ;P

but instead of the { } use < > . i hope that was easy enuf? and you can make your mssg as colorful as you want..haha i sound like a nerdy comp'teacher..

Isn't it wonderful outside? As soon as my friend and I stepped in to the car (a new Jetta she just picked up yesterday, very excited, indeed) on our drive home from school, it must've been the warm air that inspired my friend and I to speak in the first person as if we were the car, using Old English. (All the way home on the highway: "Who dares passeth THE JETTA", "THE JETTA knoweth your secrets!", etc.). Well now as I finish typing this out and reading it over, it sure does sound a little retarded. And perhaps it may have been in the best interest to have kept that to myself. But it truly was hilarity at its peak. Especially with someone who's got road rage.

Hehe, the template is different. As soon as I saw the squares at the top of the page---coincidentally, almost exactly like the ones on the John Mayer website---I was so sure it was Christina. Oh, how I was wrong.

Man. takes out there own rock on there final end and it comes to measure to see if Que. got the steal to win. the measuring guy comes out to see who won the end, the game, and the final. he pushs the lil rod against the rock and u see the stone move back. the curlers were shocked and u hear him telling the judge the stone move backed. the replay comes up the video screen and everyone watchs in disbelief to what has happened. the guy from Que. is shocked bc they have to replay the end and he believe his was closer. with the hammer they slide the rocks down and start again. i had to go out in the rain and get dinner so i missed the end
..... i need to see that movie. who's going? next weekend??

YAAAAAYYY!!! too bad i'm too busy to see anything this year. :(( i DID get to go to the bruce mcdonald talk/seminar/workshop/whatever today at etherington hall though!! that was WICKED!! we got to watch his final-year student film and one of his more recent short films, "elimination dance", which stars DON MCKELLAR!!! w00!! :)) that guy has some crazyass hilarious stories to tell... :D and he's directed the north american version of "queer as folk"!!! and he did "ready or not"! and "hard core logo" and "roadkill" and "highway 61"....i could go on forever...
and while christine's speaking of vampires, there's a film called "jesus christ vampire hunter" playing at the fest! :D there's jesus, kung-fu, lesbians....oh, and it's a musical. ;P

however, i'm kinda disappointed today 'cause i got the john mayer pics back, and....out of all the pics that were taken, the one of me & john has disappeared. it's not even on the negatives! wtf?! i guess we were never meant to have a pic together. the pic w/ the drummer and maybe even the bassist is missing, too. only the one w/ matt mangano turned out...boo. yvonne, you took the pic, right? what the hell happened?!??? the best pic that is clearly in-focus is the crotch shot of john. figures.

I went to Crocodile Rock yesterday! Yesterday was 911 Wednesday, which meant that paramedics, policemen, firemen, etc all got in for free and got $2.75 drinks! We were so psyched, until we got there and couldn't tell who and who wasn't a fireman. I guess I was kinda expecting them to wear their uniforms. That was all forgotten about, oh, say, an hour later, *ow owww!*. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! :) And now I'm hungover and all alone once again, *lol*...Must go back!

the Pop tart commercial i find to be so funny (crassy smells funny) . the supped up cars are gathered outside a coffee shop as a cheezy dance beat plays. a crowd is gathered around one spot and when the gino breaks through he see's the custom poptart breaking out the tunes and hydrolics.

*lol* Nora, I was coming back from a pub night at Ryerson..or Ram and the Rye...don't know if it's the same thing.

I was coming back home after drinking till I almost got sick, and on the bus (the people I went with live in Etobicoke, which leaves me). And instead of getting off the 26A at Sq 1, I decided to get off at the Tim Horton's...on umm what's it...the one by Sq 1. I was drunk to pieces and all alone! But I wanted a coffee, dammit, and I wasn't gonna let the solidarity get to me.

I remember walking into Tim Horton's afraid the coffee people workers were gonna smell the beer on me so I kinda whispered what I wanted in a way that I didn't have to open my mouth too wide to speak. So anyway, I sat down for a minute at a table to wait for my cab, but I was paranoid that people were gonna think I was retarded for going to Tim Horton's to chill by myself. And I don't know how long I sat down for, but in my head I played it cool by sitting down and making people think that I thought it was cool to chill by myself, but from what I remember as soon as I sat down I stood back up and waited outside instead, *lol*....(?) Or it may have been the other way around. Ah, that's not important.

But what I really enjoyed when I came home was trying to watch the rest of this movie called Advertising Rules, which I started watching last night. Which is cool, it was good, and it was in GERMAN. *lol* It was so trippy. I recommend.

How was the Battle of the Bands thing at UTM, was it last night? Cam? Oh, don't worry, are you talking about the Guvernment girl from New Year's or the one with the sparkly pants that was on the bus?

Now don't tell me that me and Yvonne are the only ones that have seen Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back now, come on! It's hilarious, "Boobookittyfuck"? Priceless. I would have to say that Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back and Rat Race were the funniest movies that I had seen probably all of last year and this year.

i found of there web page they offer tickets on the astl werks page b4 ticket master! feb 17th they released some tickets but our show has no sales on it. hymmm $37.50 is the american price of a ticket with pete tong. converting that to canadian dollars is $60! hymmm i did say that 5 years ago to see them i spent 35$ cdn and i wonder how much they would increase. well it's still worth it.
