José Bové goes to prison
(very slowly)

By John Lichfield in Paris

The French small farmers' leader and anti-globalisation campaigner José Bové went to prison in style yesterday.
Amid a media caravan reminiscent of a slow-motion Tour de France, he drove the first tractor in a procession from his farm
near Millau in the southern hills of the Massif Central to a jail near Montpellier, 60 miles away.
At the end of a seven-hour journey, punctuated with political demonstrations and media declarations, Bové gave himself up
to the prison authorities. He has to serve a much delayed three-month sentence for organising the destruction by 200
sheep-farmers using sledgehammers and crowbars of a half-built McDonald's restaurant in Millau three years ago.
Bové is a far-left politician-turned-sheep farmer who has become one of the most visible leaders of the international
movement against globalisation in the past three years. He announced that he would go on hunger strike in jail, to protest
against what he called the anti-social policies of the newly elected French centre-right government.
There had been a widespread expectation that President Jacques Chirac would pardon Bové, whose sentence was
deferred until after the presidential and parliamentary elections held in the past eight weeks. Instead, the farmers' leader with a
drooping moustache, a style now favoured by men all over rural France, was told that he must start his sentence this week.
Bové's supporters were attempting to portray him yesterday as the first left-wing martyr to the authoritarian attitudes of the new
government of Jean-Pierre Raffarin.
The Socialists, who were heavily defeated in the second round of the parliamentary election last Sunday, said they had
evidence that the Raffarin government was planning an amnesty for crimes associated with political fund-raising.
Depending on its wording, an amnesty could end the half-dozen investigations into corruption at the Paris town hall
up until 1995, when President Chirac was Mayor.
Socialist leaders in Paris, and Bové supporters on yesterday's tractor rally, said such an amnesty would contrast sharply with
the insistence of the Raffarin government that Bové must serve his prison sentence for his "political" attack on McDonald's.

French folk hero goes to jail
Jon Henley in Paris
Wednesday June 19 2002
The Guardian

José Bové, the French sheep farmer and figurehead of the world anti-globalisation movement, drove to jail on a tractor yesterday to begin a 90-day sentence for vandalising a McDonald's restaurant.
Followed by a long line of tractors and police cars and acclaimed en route by cheering crowds, the folk hero rolled through the southern French country side at about 15mph, ensuring that he missed his 8.30 appointment at Villeneuve-les-Maguelone prison, near Montpellier, by several hours.
Bové, 49, walked the last few hundred yards, dressed like a convict and chained to the other nine members of his militant Peasants' Confederation also convicted of ransacking the half-built fast food restaurant in nearby Millau in July 1999.
"I have been preparing for this moment for some time," he said. "The support has been heartwarming. We are coming in a group to show the fight against globalisation is not the business of a single person."
Bové exhausted the lengthy French appeals process last year. He was sentenced in 2000 for the attack, which was mounted as a symbolic protest against the punitive US import duties on tradi tional French farm produce, such as foie gras, Dijon mustard and the Roquefort cheese he produces on his farm on the Larzac plateau.
Officials delayed calling him to prison until after the presidential and parliamentary election marathon, which ended on Sunday.
"They're pretty stupid to be doing something like this," Bové said - meaning the new centre-right government which has finally executed the sentence.
"They've just been elected with a huge majority, no major problems on the horizon, and the first thing they do is decide to send me to prison.
"It's as if they actually wanted to mobilise the protest movement."
Banners outside the court supported Bovés struggle against la malbouffe (lousy grub) and in favour of non-industrial food and fair trade for the world's small farmers.
"It's utterly absurd," Ulrich Schalchli of the magistrate's union SM said. "This was a symbolic act, based on a legitimate political discourse. The justice system has sent prison someone who everyone knows shouldn't be there."
Because he spent 19 days in jail while under investigation, Bové is likely to be released in 40 days, providing he behaves himself.

The Times (UK), Friday June 14, 2002

Health warning: eating can make you fat
From Chris Ayres in New York

JUNK food companies in America are to warn consumers that eating too many of their products could make them fat. In a move designed to protect companies such as McDonald's and Coca-Cola from the kind of lawsuits brought against the tobacco industry, an industry-funded organisation will begin its advertising campaign - codenamed Activate - in a fortnight.
"It is designed to help kids between the ages of nine and 12, and their parents, to improve their eating and activity," said Michael Mudd, a senior vice-president at Kraft Foods, one of America's biggest makers of snack food.
The campaign, which will begin with a $2.4 million (£1.6 million) online marketing project and then television and press advertising, will cause uproar in a country whose citizens spent $110 billion last year on junk food. A quarter of the adult population visits a fast food restaurant such as McDonald's or Burger King every day.
Lawyers and food industry experts say that the project, which is being backed by the International Food Information Council foundation, could lead to packaged foods such as chocolate biscuits and crisps having cigarette-style health warnings.
Food industry executives, however, are playing down such speculation.
Industry backers include McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Burger King, Pepsi, Heinz, Unilever and Monsanto.
Critics of the industry say it has been panicked into the move after the publication of a report last December by David Satcher, the US Surgeon General. In unusually blunt language, he warned that obesity-related health problems were costing America $117 billion a year. Treating smoking-related diseases costs just $23 billion more.
"Overweight and obesity may soon cause as much preventable disease and death as cigarette smoking," the report said, adding that 300,000 deaths a year were caused by the problem, compared with 400,000 from smoking.
A few weeks after Mr Satcher's report, the Internal Revenue Service, the US equivalent of the Inland Revenue, decided to classify obesity as a disease, allowing overweight Americans to deduct the cost of treatment from their taxes.
In this climate, junk food companies are becoming increasingly agitated by talk of tobacco-style lawsuits against them. John Banzhaf, a law professor at George Washington University who helped to pioneer multibillion dollar lawsuits against cigarette manufacturers, is one of many high-profile figures openly to talk about suing food companies for obesity-related health costs.
"There's a real change in the public attitude towards obesity, similar to that change that took place with tobacco," he said.
He added that four recent lawsuits against food companies, including McDonald's and Pizza Hut, were just the beginning of a bigger trend.
Professor Banzhaf said tobacco lawsuits started out being similarly small, but soon grew dramatically bigger as public outrage intensified.
He added that if the government failed to act on obesity, the courts would do it themselves. "You watch television any night and see commercials for cheeseburgers, triple cheeseburgers and not once have I seen one that says, 'Warning: twice your daily recommended amount of fat'."
But the industry says the Activate programme is not related to fear of obesity lawsuits.
"We began researching the increasing incidence of obesity when it started to happen three or four years ago," said Sue Borra, one of information council's officials responsible for the campaign.
Ms Borra added that obesity was related to much more than just junk food.
"It's about the use of automobiles, the television, the internet, the lack of time to cook at home - it's a pretty complex issue."
Food companies are not only concerned about lawsuits. Campaigners also argue that junk food such as Big Macs should be taxed in the same way as cigarettes.
They say the billions of dollars raised from the "fat tax" - also known as "heavy duty" - should be used to fund anti-obesity education programmes.
In the states of California and Vermont, plans for fat taxes have been proposed by senators, but were rejected after heavy lobbying by the food industry.
Marion Nestle, professor and chair of the department of nutrition and food studies at New York University, is one of many academics who believe a fat tax is now the only option available.
"We've tried willpower and we know it doesn't work," she said. "And willpower doesn't work because there's $30 billion worth of food marketing, much of which is designed to evade common sense."
According to the Centre for Science in the Public Interest, a political "think tank" in Washington, a one-cent tax on every 12oz soft drink would generate about $1.5 billion in revenues every year. In addition, a one-cent tax on every pound of sweets, crisps and other snacks would raise about $314 million.
Campaigners such as Professor Nestle also have more radical ideas. They argue that US building codes should be altered to force property developers to put attractive, useable staircases in office complexes as well as lifts.
Television sets and cars should also be taxed, they say, because they encourage general slothfulness.
In Midwestern states such as Illinois, where heat can be fierce in summer and the cold equally unbearable in winter, the use of air conditioning and heating devices should be discouraged, campaigners say, because being either too hot or too cold results in the human body burning calories.

Overfed, overweight, over here
By Nigel Hawkes, Health Editor

A BILLION people around the world are now either overweight or obese, the World Heart Federation has said.
The "fat epidemic" is rapidly overtaking smoking as the main cause of heart disease and stroke. The United States leads the world fatties' league, but Britain is not far behind.
Almost 20 per cent of British men, and 21.4 per cent of women, have a body mass index of 30 or more, which is the definition of obesity. Around half of all British adults are reckoned to be overweight, with a BMI of over 25.
Heart disease and stroke already kill 17 million people in the world every year, and the risks of both are greatly increased by being overweight.
Severe obesity is linked to a 12-fold increase in deaths among young adults, while women who are overweight are three times more likely to have a stroke.
"The obesity epidemic is caused largely by an environment which discourages physical activity and promotes unhealthy eating," Professor Mario Maranhao, a Brazilian specialist and President of the federation, said.
"Urban populations in many countries have changed their diets, increasing their consumption of saturated fats and sugar and reducing fibre consumptions.
"This has a direct impact on children. An estimated 22 million children under five are overweight, and nearly one in three children in the United States between five and 14 is overweight, compared to one in six 30 years ago."
Fat is also an emerging epidemic in low and middle-income countries, where the awareness of the health effects may be less. Of the one billion total, the federation said, 300 million people are obese, and another 700 million overweight.
"In countries such as China, and in Africa and the Middle East, the image of prosperity and success can be associated with weight gain," said Professor Bayes de Luna, a Spanish cardiologist who is chairman of World Heart Day, which will be held on September 29.
In Britain, obesity has become steadily more common, trebling since the 1980s. Treating obesity costs the NHS at least £500 million a year, with another £2 billion for reduced productivity and lost output.
Body Mass Index is the figure that results from dividing the weight in kg by the square of the height in metres.

my first day of government work was quite decent!

i was gonna post some good, fun, left-wing political reading here, but i'll spare yvonne's b-day the tedium.

'til tomorrow,
(=

Crap! I didn't want to be the last person to say happy birthday to Yvonne! Grr! ....;) Rarr!

Happy b-day, Yvonne!

I just finished telling my sister that Yvonne was turning 20 today and she had some sort of breakdown for a good 15 minutes in realisation that I'd be doing the same thing later this year. She's been wondering where all the years went by. She says, "You're still supposed to be 16!...*frowns*...Stupid!" (Two minutes later) "Do you want to learn how to drive a standard?"

Uh, what? *lol* My sister's nuts.

Btw, thanks for the Norton advice, Cam. But I've just come to accept that I wasn't meant to keep any of the files...Any of the 325 of 'em...Nope...Wasn't meant to be...*crying* Oh, I'll get over it.

yvonne's 20!
congrats :)

shit. audiogalaxy's dead.
:((

nadine, time zones are set to eastern standard. if u are seeing some wackey times that are untrue hit "refresh".

oh my,
im sooo happy from the way things have been going.

Friday i saw my godson and he stayed with me til saturday afternoon. :)
had to miss the movie at von von's which was kinda sad.

karen called me while being undressed... but 'not naked' *l*. haha she also said something about rachel turning all moldy in the shower =p

i saw scooby doo with my a few of my cousins and it was alright. a fare good kids movie but not rock solid entertainment for older ppl. cant put down the movie at all. daphney and velma were kinda hot aswell as "mary jane"!.

The White Stripes.
thanx so much stina!! OMG, that was awesome. i dont think i have seen a band plaly quite like them live b4. the opening act got me into things and were fun as we both agreed. the stripes played well. the girl was a doll and Jack Stripe was a good character.
the crowd were pretty spectatorish as only 15% or so of the ppl looked liked they cared to dance or move. i found being 5 ppl back i still had room to kick step and dance anyway i pleased :). haha stina and her mosh pit ettiquette landed her he few peeps ahead in the 2nd row.

not sure if i agree with stina that alot of the ppl at the show were there to be in the 'in scene'. i think currious struck them and they like to watch but not to play ;). then again maybe some ppl are just to cool to dance and such. im not one of them *l*

*smiles, im all smiles* later

do they rotate time zones on blogger??

maaan, i haven't been to a "real" concert in a looong time...(i think the last time was joel plaskett? but that was much smaller.) last nite was faantastic!! whirlwind heat, the opener, were damned entertaining. the lead singer dude freaked out from the get-go, and he totally had the audience gaping either in awe or in shock--or both. i rewarded them afterwards by buying an (affordable) t-shirt. :) the white stripes were completely absorbing; i love their mannerisms and stage presence! jack white actually interacted w/ the audience, and sometimes he'd look out and wink at someone or break into this cute smile...meg is adorable. she's just really laid-back, and she'd occasionally make facial expressions when reacting to the music. these bonehead guys in the front were shouting, "meg's hot! meg's hot!" near the end of the show, and she had this cute shy smile on her face! :D anyway, they played a lot of favourites from all 3 albums, like astro, you're pretty good looking, hello operator, i think i smell a rat, hotel yorba, and a really short version of fell in love w/ a girl, but my fave had to be we're going to be friends. oh, they also played a song that i've never heard before, but i think it's a b-side called rated x. meg white sings!!! yeah, it was wonderful. and we even managed to move from being about 10 ppl back to being about a person away from the front! w00!
ah yes, and i really loved how the music they played before they went on was from the music man. :D
we saw andrea nene afterwards. i knew she'd be there. it was cool to be on the guest list when she wasn't for once! hahaha

some misc. comments: it's true. i find the majority of toronto audiences to react quite indifferently even when they are going to see a wicked band that they really want to see (needless to say, the show was sold-out). seems like a lot of ppl who were there were just trying to be seen in the "in" scene. ah, well. i liked how everyone was pretty friendly though. there was only one obnoxiously rowdy guy in the front, and that was redeemed by the fact that 2 really nice tall guys let us go in front of them so that we could see. :)) oh, and remember how i really liked sean's black CBGB/OMFUG t-shirt? well, i saw about 4 other ppl wearing 'em yesterday. geez. i bet none of 'em have ever even been there before anyway. *end of rant*

thanks for coming, cam!!

here's a pretty good preview article.

IT'S SO GOOD! and very addicting. so go try one..NOW!

SO GUESS WHAT?!?! this wee message goes out to those that were there @ tim hortons..when i was laughing at the simpsons episode that none of you seemed to remember!!! well I SAW IT! i was freaking out, i'm like "joel watch it NOW damnit! i'm not crazy!" i was right, it's when homer breaks his leg...and he starts up his own daycare! grandpa simpson laughs at him then makes some suggestions as to what to do:
"play with a widdle "dee deeeee dee deeee" make friends with a chinese man "
::chinese man enters:: sir you need to get back to the home(i don't really remember what he says, but it honestly doesn't matter)
grandpa S: :: puts hands together and bows:: thank you pingpong
man: my name is paul(sean..jon...whatever)
grandpa S: "suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure it is"

let's get friendship right...get life day to day ...anyone hear the new tragically hip song? i n c r e d i b l e

LOL Marc, you don't understand how hard I'm laughing... "we're... chocoloate in portugal!!" Oh my. We're Portuguese chocolate...??? Do we at least taste good? :) *lol* Btw, that second shot's hilarious every time I look at it. You're too much!

And yeah, Cam, what did you think I was?

Today seemed to have started off as the worst shift ever. First it started off with losing $5 from a till (sure, the amount doesn't sound like anything, but it's the principle!); then, I rented out a PS2 to someone and had to take it back because I forgot to take a deposit for it first, and the dude didn't have enough for a deposit; then, I took home one of the keys to the cupboards (which is currently and mockingly sitting on my desk at the moment) and I think I might've left the bottom safe open. DAMMIT ALL TO HELL!

Buuut, the end of the shift ended rather contentedly and then those pictures of the Portuguese chocolate forced me to laugh...So I guess all's well that ends well, right?

PS Have a good trip Cgal, send me a postcard! Even though by the time you read this you'll be back here reading up on instructions to send a postcard from a two-day trip that had already taken place. Whatever, I'm tired, just come back safely. :) lol

Monday, June 17, 2002

yeah i like the start and the end

haha and the milk maid scenes and the dosing of it is a bit racey =p
i knew joel would like it =p

stina good luck on your mid terms. sorry i dunno where my nekis magazine and wemf flyer went of too? =o
cgal, have a nice trip. the rest of ya, take care

ok im taking note to where all u guys are at with WYD stuff. il call them 2morrow and see what i can do :)
i have a feeling faxing them again might be the solution.

thanx for those who were concerned for my cuz. just a hurt thumb. he went air born into a 15ft pine tree and then rolled his car. he's so lucky not to be serriously injured/dead.

prodigy ahhh how great they are. that video is made for joel. it has cows! i can definitely see why that would not be played on tv..pretty much nude girls milking cows and squirting the milk everywhere.lol. nice. i love the begining and end. they are really just old suit&tie men. mmmm maxim i love him. i told my parents i was going to marry him one day. they freaked out at me;)

that picture of john stamos grossed me out. that's uncle jesse. it just seems so..wrong!

anyhoo i'm off for a couple days avec joel...so miss me. *wiNk*

all my love...over and out..

the only e-mail i didn't receive is the one w/ the training session dates on it...i don't think i got it, anyway....

i'm glad to hear that your cousin is safe and sound, cam.

does anyone know what is going on?
i just woke up.

my cousin john almost killed himself in a car wreck yesterday. he walked away with only a fractured thumb, a killed tree, and a writed of car.
for those of u who don't know my cuz he is like a bro to me. yeah i talked to him on the phone tonight. his car rolled atleast 1 time. it did go air born when it hit the tree. he was driving to fast, and panicked. thank god he's smart enough to have had his seat belt on.

later,
Cameron Bay,

Aw, who gave Cam his powers back? He didn't get a chance to see how we edited his last post to sound more "humorous and cool". lol. ;)

tND was awesome. Too much inhalation of second hand smoke from the weed. Became too relaxed and couldn't enjoy the whole show to the full extent. Pretty good show. Not making anymore sense. Can't type in whole sentences. Going to sleep.

thanx for returning my powers?
ummm and editing my post??

nice font nadine. im gonna miss erindale. kinda like leaving FX where u get granted the opportunity to see your friends so often :).

tND show. well i liked where we were the 1st half but the 2nd half didnt matter to much for me. i was tired already and just enjoying the sounds. stina perched herself up like a go-go dancer =p. i did manage to wipe out one time =S
i was far more drunk at crassys and swiss chalet then at the party. errr another new deal show where i met only guys and no women *l*. newhoo u girls rock (even those that didnt come ;)).

ewww my clothes stink. weeeeeeeeeeeed

Cameron Bay.

i'm realizing that i really didn't mind being in school...at least i had something to occupy my time....
by the way...galine did that email i sent you work properly?

Friday, June 14, 2002

give me my powers back. im the only one that fixs things here anyways =p

Cameron Bay.

oops. yes. shaggy walk. riiight. i need to re-wire my brain.
that kid on his lap was soo cute! :))
anyway, it'll be on again at 4 p.m. (aka in ten minutes).

tND COUNTDOWN: t-minus 7 and 1/6 hours...

(=

Chris, I think (at least I hope) that episode of Rosie is a repeat of the one I watched a while ago...At the end does Matthew have this kid on his lap dressed up as Scooby? They were so cute! And yes, unfortunately, he's going to be a father with his "wife"...Or whatever you want to call her. :o|

I love the way he Scooby walks...or I guess it's more of a Shaggy walk. He's the money. ;)

okay, this one's real--enter for yvonne, please.
Shoot an e-mail to stuff@sonymusic.com if you'd like to pick up a pair of tickets to see John Mayer at the Opera House in Toronto, ON on Thursday, June 27. We'll give a pair of tix to the 100th person to reply with their vitals in the body of the message and the title of John's recent album as the subject line.

p.s. the answer is "room for squares"

(=

Haha, okay, so I'm wrong...8 pm. lol.

The more I see this pic, the weirder it starts to look...

Rach! Yeah, I saw the review that they gave John Stamos/Jane Leeves for Cabaret in the Star, I think it was a few weeks ago. It was so weird. He has full-on makeup and everything...I don't think he really pulls off the look, it's just too weird seeing him like that, but whatever...Who cares, he's freaking Uncle Jesse! Candy to the eye...Well maybe not in this pic, but...you know what I mean.

Christina, is he playing Alan Cumming's role of the emcee?....That just makes it even weirder...

Scooby-Dooo!

"...But Lillard is possessed by the role, which requires him to match Scooby groan-for-groan in fart contests, fainting spells, tasteless taunts (see cat joke above) and food-consumption atrocities (we learn that both Scooby and Shaggy like to drink from the toilet).

Lillard gives the flick its manic energy..."

-The Star.com

Booyah!

scooby doo review

the cast was on rosie today, too. it was pretty good! crissandra, you should watch...matthew lillard demonstrates how he does his scooby walk! (btw--did you know that he's gonna be a father?!)

(=

yep, marc will be meeting up w/ us there...
and apparently the band will be going on at 11 p.m., so we should get in there by around 10:30 or so??

i knew john stamos was in cabaret! there's a pic of him as the emcee somewhere online...and "daphne" from frasier is sally bowles!!

Thursday, June 13, 2002

criss--we're meeting at yer place tomorrow at around 8, actually. :D
here's something to get ya even more revved up.
hmmm...they should be starting tonite's show in about half an hour...

oh yeah--the strokes are on leno tonite!!!

(=

Woohoo! I'm so excited for the show tomorrow! I hear we're meeting at my place tomorrow at 7? ...Sounds good to me! Wait, was it 7? I don't even know what time the thing starts at...Yeah, good one, Me. I guess I'll find out sooner or later, right? ;)

See yalls tomorra.

MARC IS COMING TO tND! :))

had an interview at the ministry of finance today. yaay.

will go and check out sean's stuff soon...i really liked his own version of the cathy song he put on my birthday mix tape, so i hope i won't be disappointed!!

(=

im high on nitrous right now
hehe i got pretty buzzed last night too but that was over ummmm 3 beers?

sean has some solo accoustic stuff out on mp3.com. it's rather good and i think stina will be haywire for it.
he has a song called invincible... i thought "no such thing" by JM was titled that for awhile.

newhoo rach what time is the meeting at?

i wanna go but then maybe i shouldnt.
im gonna take a nap or watch terminatior.

marc hope u come friday

Wednesday, June 12, 2002

I'm starting to get really excited for the show on Friday! How should we plan this?

Rach, how's your day job going? I was just about to call you to ask, but you just posted that you were just leaving to go to your night job...and then Bulk Barn. ;)

Cam, there you go again calling people gay and posting those Olsen twin pics that you have screensaved on your computer. When ever will this end? When? When?!?! Whyyy!

And Marc, I'd have to agree with Rach. It's possible that you subconsciously have feelings for the girl. It's even natural to feel that way, I know a lot of people that do. It's a natural reaction whether it's intentions are good or not.

ahh hahahahha--neeners, cameron.

rockstar--that story kicks friggin' ass!!! :D it was a taping for a t.v. show, right? did you end up setting yer vcr??

tND COUNTDOWN: deux jours

(=

oi,
i went to bed b4 posting a rebuttle to stina's post and she already followed it with another.
so i understand now. if u wanted to say u were gay like the men and women who watch sex in the city and queer as folk i see how u would do it. woah
glad we got that cleared up. put that sucker to rest =p.
oh and as i told you, i dont think your gay stina.

haha and marc no one won this argument. i think my question was valid and stina cleared it up. oh wait, stina did say i won? newhoo this topic is to long about nothing.

marc the capture was taken from computer/tv. i did it as we were talking yesterday.

*dont read this girls*
haha i think its completely normal not to be thrilled when u find out a friend is dating someone. actually u say that news and im already concerned that someone i know is now attached. *l*. so if u want my oppinion u should be happy that your friend has found someone blah blah crap but u dont have to smile about it =p
i think it's our nature to be defensive like this. your always trying to compete for the girl even if u dont like this particular one. if things are pure friendship then she would be like your sister and your just protective. oh well, we get down with it or do the best to 'save' our friend ;)

tND friday is coming up :)

detroit, i wanted to go there for DEMF earlier..... hymmmm

hahahha...nadine, you are a phreak. he's the science head now? wowies.

the strokes are going to be playing w/ the white stripes!!!! damn those shows are going to be freaking amazing...they're gonna be doing 2 shows in nyc (w/ the strokes headlining) and 2 in detroit (w/ the stripes headlining). shiiit...a roadtrip to either city would be wicked!!

(=

meeeoowwwwwww

yay, marc! i'm glad you agree w/ me. :)) aww, and don't worry 'bout how you feel b/c yer friend has a bf...i could add more, but i think what i want to say would just turn out sounding mean (although it applies to me as well)! :D
i have a few more points to bring up (sorry--couldn't resist): if i was going to group "gay men" and "females" together, wouldn't i have said "gay men and _women_" as opposed to "females"? or at least i would have said "males" to go w/ "females"...uh huh--i think so. aaand, if you still wanna argue about it, i guess i could clarify it further by changing the position of the words to "females like me and gay men". so there ya go. i will not touch on this topic any further.

RACHEL!!!!! you will love this!!!! the IME-tND connection. :))

(=

we could argue about this forever...
actually cam, it depends on how you break down the clause "gay men and females like me"...see, you saw it as "gay men and females" and then "like me," but i usually like to make my statements clear, and if i wanted to convey what you thought, then i would have written "gay men and females, like me" (emphasis on the comma). however, i didn't clarify w/ a comma, and that means that my intent was to split it up as "gay men" _and_ "females like me."
but really, i'm sick of sounding like an obsessive-compulsive phreak who HAS to win an argument, so go ahead. i give you permission to think that i'm gay. i really don't care all that much about the content of the argument, i just like to argue for argument's sake. ;P

(=

*reading stinas long post*
stina i still think it makes sense. the target "audiences" are "gay men and females". You said "like me". haha that is far from what u had on your mind. the term gay is an umbrella term for homosexuality. gay rights for instance refers to both men and women.
a valid lil fight u put up there but i think u called yourself gay =p

*watchs leno* hahaha oh no

they were being asked questions about what college they are going to attend and such.
i think they are finally about to be taken serriously.

stina, again. that guy was not from soul decission. he was just some bum.

argh. cam, let us break down my previous statement:
"the target audiences for both sex and the city and queer as folk are the same:"
if you will notice, i used the plural form of "audience" as opposed to the singular; this _should_ imply that i'm talking about 2 different audience_s_. however, i guess the plural "audiences" could also be read as complying w/ the two different shows...
"gay men and females like me"
these are the two separate and different target audiences. i am obviously not a gay man, and i really don't see how the category "females like me" reveals that i'm a homosexual!!! of course this whole statement is totally a generalization that is full of stereotypes, and while i'm falling into the whole stereotype thing, you should realize that lesbians usually fall under either the "butch" or "femme" categories (i had to watch a gazillion docus on this in film in first year), and if i was gonna be lesbian, i would have to think that i would fall under the first label, and if you could deduct that, then you would know that i would definitely _not_ be into a show like sex & the city or queer as folk. this of course is all based on my shitarsed guesses about lesbians, and i'd be interested to know if i'm absolutely off the mark about this, but i really doubt that they like either of those shows. maybe we should ask some.
i guess the "females like me" category could imply many things, but what i had in mind was something like "girls-who-love-metropolitan-cities, edgy-love-stories, and-hot-gay-men." ye-ah.

so, i watched that AFI tv special thing on the 100 greatest passionate romance movies or something just now, and my dear -alan- was interviewed on it!! ahhh...lovely. :) of course casablanca was #1. west side story was #3! looove that movie.
oh, and during commercial breaks i was flipping through channels, and gonna meet a rockstar was on much, and scrap all those comparisons i made before for that guy that was at the block party on friday---he looked almost exactly like that blond dude in soul decision. really. am i nuts, cam, or do you think it looked like him too? it would be so flipping funny if it was really him!! :D he's canadian, right?? but why the hell would he want to go to a free block party?! nah, now i don't think it was him anymore.

okay, enough psycho babble. gemma--are you gonna tell us about this dreamy edwin experience you had or what??

rachel and i got our cheesy-arsed photos for our badges today. we worked out a wicked system where we managed to get single shots of ourselves on one strip! i sat first, then flew out of the booth (on the right side) w/ rach running in (on the right side). then we got 2 pics together. aren't we geniuses?! i think i've found my new obsession. we should try getting a different face on each photo next time!!!

haha--i remember when we gave you that scooby/timon, cam!! :D

do you remember mike in our gr. 1 class, criss? it's crazy how so many of us have known each other for so long...! 3/4 of kid menace were in the same gr. 1 class as well. who woulda guessed?!

has anyone ever seen these crispy crunch commercials??? they are HILARIOUS!!! genius, i tell you!!!!!! thanks to my housemate for those.

(=

good work stina

haha i liked those quotes aswell.
"christina's got it going on..funky styyyyyyyle"..... did i say that b4?

crassy, yes scooby is named timon from the lion king. there is a story to this.
it starts from back in grade 10. i had a stuffed Mc Happy Meal timon who i kept in my school bag. He was quite the character as he and i made new friends in school. one day in the cafe he was kid napped and it was either Karen or Katrina that were lead suspects. He was safely returned. Then i went to the hullabaloo rave and i took him along with me. That was the 1st time i had ever met Christine and probally the 1st time i ever talked to christina (well im not sure we actually did talk that nite). The rave was most fantastic but when i returned home that morning it struck me. horror had set in again. timon was had gone missing.
On my 18th bday christine, christina, and katrina came to my house party and brought with them timon. He was now a scooby doo with a printed picture of timon masked to his face. *tear*
thanx for saying that im such a character but credit has to be given to all of the friends of timon and those who he has touched.

peace

"omg i love this!(minus the christina thing cos she's horrible!) but christina still has the MMC connections!
"christina's got it going on..funky styyyyyyyle" let's have a house party and play mmc tunes. hehe
goooo christina!
" -- cgal

i find the above quote funny b/c it sounds like she has schizophrenia. ;P

"*Rach, our pigeon story might not be able to compare to this one* And btw, thanks so much for the ticket! I guess the next time I see you, I'll be able to pay you back the next time I see you. ? lol I don't make sense anymore...You know what I mean." -- crassy

this was pretty flipping funnee too. is yer fever clearing up yet?? ;)
maybe we can do the "exchange" tomorrow at timmy's? vhat time should we be there, and exactly which timmy ho's are we supposed to be converging at, rach???

(=

Hi everybody, (Or as Cgal would say...) "Salutations!",

Yay! Scooby Doo! You guys are money! ("Vegas, baby, Vegas!"....Hahahahaaaanyway....) Saturday or Sunday sounds good. Or if anyone knows if they've got next Tuesday off, that's cool, maybe we can watch it then. It's kind-of-cheap Tuesdays! This is gonna be great. Hehehehe! Hehehehe!!! *anxious*

I'm thinking of "taking a closer look" at this Scooby Doo poster on the second floor of the AMC, the one with Matthew (or as I've recently nicknamed him.....Husband) on it. :) And maybe even "take a closer look at" the Freddie Prinze Jr one, just for good measure or even to sell on Ebay. Muahaha!...

Cam, did you name your stuffed Scooby "Timon" from the Lion King? lol You're such a character.

Holy crap, Christina, I can't believe it, the MMVA's, Mike Sa'd, the loft...The MMVA's! Musta been one helluva day. *Rach, our pigeon story might not be able to compare to this one* And btw, thanks so much for the ticket! I guess the next time I see you, I'll be able to pay you back the next time I see you. ? lol I don't make sense anymore...You know what I mean.

btw--i think we should do the drive-in thing w/ scooby doo, no? how 'bout next sat or sun?

(=

cgal--YES! it was that matt!!! :D can you believe he's been collaborating w/ christina aguilera for the past year?!? he's been helping her out w/ her songs for her next album! they wrote the one she performed at the olympics closing ceremony together! christina e-mailed me twice, before her first album came out. i think she was desperate for fans at the time. ;P i think matt is following her strategy now, since he's gonna be coming out w/ a cd soon as well! ;) it's funny how i used to LOVE that guy, and know that i'm sane, he actually writes to me! :D
---
well, yesterday was an interesting day.
let's fill in the gaps that cam left out, shall we?
;P
all of you dropped like flies at the last minute, and i somehow ended up going to this thing that i was originally unable to attend--oh how the tables turn. and yes, the tables were turning at the lot on richmond & john last nite...however, i think my theory that ppl are too dead tired to be lively on friday nites is turning out to be true. i was not feeling it yesterday--but you all better prove me wrong next week at the flipping opera house!!!
which reminds me--crissandra and rachel--your tND tkts have been purchased, and il n'y a pas de "refunds," so it's set--y'all are coming.
we ended up discovering that there were a whole bunch of stores on queen that _didn't_ have tND flyers in 'em (even flippin' modrobes, where they're selling tkts for the show!!), so we filled in the gaps there (i've gotta say, there were some real friendly sales ppl in all of 'em--but that may just be b/c it was almost closing time...haha); i don't know if those stores just ran out of flyers or if they never had any in the first place, but shit, i was shocked when i found out that they were missing 'em! one or two stores _did_ have flyers though, and there were posters up advertising the show all over the street...i really don't get it. oh well. i will stop boring you w/ tedious ponderings on promo & advertising strategies now.
it was a really nice evening, and after stocking (or re-stocking??) some shops w/ flyers, we took a walk over to yonge, and as cam said, listened to some decent unknown band blast our ears out at edge102 (where i continue to resume my ritual of leaving tND stickers on their giveaway stand) for a few secs. then we headed back over to queen where we met up w/ yeemi and her lovely gf named vikki on a traffic island, only to part ways again and agree to meet up later as they exchanged destinations w/ us (those two headed in the direction we just came from).
we made our way over to the HMV on queen to catch the acoustic in-store perf of BRMC, and i hafta say, i thought they were pretty darned good. the sound was really great in there (although i think they still had a few technical problems), and i know it was probably a very different side of BRMC that we were witnessing compared to the more hard-rocking, electric show they put on at lee's or in ottawa. i really liked it...a lot of the stuff they played reminded me of waves rolling over one another. i loved how two of 'em would alternate singing duties too, and their voices overlapped a lot as well. so right before they finished up their perf, who do i spot near the front? mike sa'd!!! i think the last time i saw him was maybe 2 years ago!!!?! we went up and talked to him and his gf (whom i might add seemed really, really nice), and found out that they're both gonna take psychology at york next year. good for them! it really was fantastic to seem him again--i always thought that he was a really friendly guy (and he's got kickass taste in music--he got to see the friggin' strokes the first time they ever played toronto, when they opened for the doves!! shiiite!! i didn't even know they opened for the doves here!!! i thought their first show was the one at the horseshoe...amazing).
onto the block party--
we catch up w/ yeemi & vikki in the lot and vikki kicks our asses at handing out tND flyers. she also ends up getting all this kickass promo crap in the process (cd's, skechers keychains, fido dogtags <--that's a smart one), and we kinda get some too just b/c we're w/ her. we end up running into this guy who knows vikki & yeemi, and he takes us over to his office to pee. really. now i need to describe this place--it was absolutely amazing. it was one of those cool, laid-back web-design loft/offices--the kinds that are huge open spaces w/ couches and high ceilings and contemporary works of art, tv's, vcr's, microwaves...the places i've always heard about but never really witnessed for myself before. well it was gorgeous, and yeemi and i were ready to move in and live there. the building also had one of those old-ass, funky manual elevator things, w/ the doors that you have to close yourself--you know, like the one in "the panic room"! oh, and there was this beautiful black cat named poe that lives there; what i'd do to be that cat...although she must be kinda lonely there at nite sometimes...and one more thing!! this company had 3 MMVA's that they won for the our lady peace video they did!! they won for "in repair." damn, those awards are heavy!! they weigh about 10 pounds--i swear!!
okay, i better end this pointless drivel soon, so i'll try to make it quick--
we head back over to the block party w/ a pit stop at sugar mtn (loove that place--reminds me of teresa, 'cause she introduced me to it), and enjoyed some dj sets. i really hadn't heard of any of 'em before, but it was okay. there was some guy who came up to me when we got there, and i think he was attempting to pick me up or whatever, but it was really weird b/c i honestly thought i recognized him from somewhere...i never got around to asking, but he reminded me of 3 ppl:
1) that guy who went to xavier w/ some of us--jonathan tremblay?
2) this guy who was in my con-ed frosh group last year--nick adams, or something like that. i'm pretty certain it wasn't him though, 'cause i'm sure i would've immediately recognized him otherwise. however, this block party dude _did_ say he was a farm boy (hahhahahahahaha), and so is nick.
3) some guy who was in my contemporary lit class this year...no clue what his name was.
oh well. i guess i'm used to wondering about these things now.

time for math,
~ me

This is the Video i was talking about earlier about KK. i luv that end smile :). what she is saying is blah but what else to say.

shhhhhhhh

hey hey hey yall
i think stina might be the next person chalked on to the "sick list".
sorry if i put ya there stina
rosa i think was another recent addition but we will wait and see for them to show symptoms b4 we get to add them.

i myself am doing much better. got a new bottle of buckleys and doing it atleast 3 times a day. the burn does make me tighten my muscles *l*

soooo u wanna know about the block party?
well we got there late missing my girl freedom and to see a pretty damn empty parking lot. so christina and i (the rest of the folks were tired or sick and stuff) wondered through queen street shops. unloaded some New Deal flyers for them and picked up tickets for the show.
we saw some band play at the Edge102 studio who we didnt know who they were but they were pretty good. i asked a girl sitting on the floor right infront of them if them who they were and she had no clue.
then we went HMV and watched the BRMC do a hour long accoustic show. I did enjoy there sound although it sounded like nothing new. it would have been great to see them play outdoors on a grassy field with ppl moving around to them.
OK so now the block party bit. well molson sponsoring it so it left quite a few drunk dancers out and about. there were some kick bum dancers out there. breakers, liquid kids, movers and shakers, and some girl who had the early kick step styles :)
i was pretty burned out tierd but Dr Trance vs Os2 was good stuff.

yep im up for scoooby scoooby doooooooooooo.
il attend with my stuffed scooby dog AKA timone.

Cameron Bay.

MATT MORRIS!?!?!
OH dear me!!! i was skimming the page and just caught that!!! hahahaha! wait a sec..he emailed you a 2nd time? and you said "hope it's not like christina aguilera" do you mean she used to email you too?!?! omg i love this!(minus the christina thing cos she's horrible!) but christina still has the MMC connections!
"christina's got it going on..funky styyyyyyyle" let's have a house party and play mmc tunes. hehe
goooo christina!

sorry i'm not attending this blockparty thing but it's so not up to my standards!the lineup is absolutely horrendous.(jk it's just cos i'm not feeling well:( and i must say i'm against girls who spin. the usually suck -ass-. buahahaha. i'm so mean. i'm so male chauvenist(sp) and i'm a girlie. i'm so girlie girl yet not. i could go on about this but i wont:)

i'm off. and i love you. mmm scooby doo. i love him. i'll attend the movie w/my scooby doo lunch box;) haha
love you all...c g a l xox

Christina, does that mean Matt has absolutely no life but to reply to emails from people who thought he was a star way back in the day? *lol*

Yay!!! Opens June 14th...I mean tND is a priority most for sure, but I'm afraid we are all going to have to squeeze this in. I'm sorry, but we're just going to have to. ...Please!!???!!!

;)

hmm. wemf tkts are on sale already...

damn, yer lucky you got to go to that BRMC show, gemma! someone else who went to the ottawa show on the wedge board said it kicked ass too. you should check out the constantines live one day! their energy is friggin' amazing!!
oh, and the pop shove-its seem to be getting some attention at nxne this year. i remember you talking about them before...they're mentioned in now magazine this week.

and matt just wrote me back again! yikes, it's kinda like when christina aguilera was just starting out...hope he doesn't become a pop star, too. i doubt he will though.

hehe go andria,

im thinking this girl would look pretty damn hot in headphones too. *l*

marc is correct about buckley's and it having the risk of being addictive. i finished of my bottle today by putting water in it and taking it from the bottle *l*. never had tequila b4 saturday but i would say they are the same. maybe i like buckleys a bit more.

no, nxne now hates me. hooray!

i remember that girl now. i watched edgemont once, i think. i remember her friend on the show was kinda cute.

what time are we going tomorrow? maybe we can go and pick up tND tkts, too? and BRMC are playing at the HMV on queen w. tomorrow! (i'm missing their show tonite. boo.)

btw, remember how tinytown (smallville) never seemed to end last sunday *l*
well i was right about the chick in the show being on a CBC highschool show.
she stars in edgemont. haha she also has played the role of Snow White.
the name is Kristin Kreuk and she will be at the MMVA! marc go check her pics now ;)
haha oh my, i have been looking through this stuff for awhile.
haha i dare any guy to see her short interview video and say they wouldnt like her. (check the smile when it ends). see, see, i told u its not all about T&A!

Stina, things cool with you and NXNE? newhoo glad we have u coming to the block party :)
Crassy i belive is going and i am too.
a friend of mine i think is going and rosa i think is thinking about it too.
so we do have a lil group of ppl heading there and il do my best to bother u all tonight.
*i believe rach might not be coming anymore

Evil P is a guy and he spins hardcore breaks
Dj Freedom DnB hotty

oh and i believe the location is 229 Richmond St and John. Horseshoe Tavern?

Cameron Bay

galine!! hahaha...matt morris sent me an e-mail today. yes, THAT matt morris. :D

ahhhh......stop getting sick, ppl!!!

last nite and today have been very strange for me.
i am no longer gonna be helping out at nxne, so i'm gonna go to their flipping block party instead. who exactly is coming??
galine--you can go to the drive-in anytime!! this block party thing is only once a year!! COME! and like cam said, drag your friends along, too!

(=

Thanks, Chris. :)
tND is on Friday June 14th, right?

On this Block Party flyer, there's an Evil P spinning on Friday. :) Maybe we're meant to be together. Er, wait, let me take that back...With my luck, this "Evil P" will end up being a girl *lol* Rach.

Btw, CONGRATS RACH!!! I knew you'd get it. :)

*gives galine a luv slap accross her head*
yo this party looks almost sweeter then idance. can i steal your friends from the drive in? mainly joel, rosa, and ummmm yourself =p
this is like the 1st saturday i dont have to work either!

guys im still sick but im heading to this thing. so rach your in and whooooooom else? come on. dont be shy.

WYD, i have gotten a fair share of mail. i need to do the passport photo thing. the cross comes in friday and free diner blah blah (conflicts with block party) and ummm i said some of us might be able to help St. Fx :)

i already congradulated rachel but il do it again here to make it offical. congradulations.
me likes the olsen twins. (evil laugh)

"dance with me" -B____ S_____?
Cameron Bay.

hey all:)
i'd just like to say that you all suckass lol im kidding. but friday was parfait and now no drive in. ::sigh:: ahh well, i'll attend w/joel, the one and only ro', jon and perhaps some others and we'll all go some day soon. i just don't have to work sat. or anything so friday was perfect. during the week is harder for some(joel, ro, meself) due to work and mall hours.

rachel congrats on the job i'm proud of you!
christina: when are you going downtown? i'll see my schedule soon and can let you know if i can make it or not. i can go downtown and get tix though so that wont be a problem.

anyhoo i cant concentrate so im off.
talk later..au revoir...
c g a l:)

enter, my friends, enter!

i think the block party is gonna be in that lot by muchmusic, no? do you think you'll go both days??

yes! i think the drive-in on tuesday is brilliant! :))

i am awake at this hour. that is not good.

(=

Tuesday, June 04, 2002

mew...

galine i was thinking about heading to the drive in too....how about tuesday? cheap day >:)

the block party sounds like fun too....what club is at that address?...it sounds vaguely familiar....

sorry to hear you guys are sick....well those of you that are....such a shame....

har har har--i think there's some mistake. i don't think i could fall in love w/ anakin if he kept looking at me like that!

which Episode II character are you?

Queen of Naboo. You could have a split personality - simply to hide who you really are. You are extremely polite and gentle. However, if needs be, you will take action and can be a very good leader. You have the power to make people believe in you - use this power. The one you love could also end up being the one you hate.

and btw--she's not queen of naboo anymore, you incompetent quiz-makers!!!

(=

white ribbon - isn't that for men againt vilonence towards women?
gemma your skipping out on seeing Snow?

galine, marvalous plan. sorry it has been cancelled and been put of to a later date.
why? bc that
block party on friday fricken rocks. haha OS2 vs Dr Trance!! u have everything from hip hop, hardcore, jungle, and house. friday's line up appears to be better then saturday's other then the fact they have Robb G!!!

i dont mind buckleys. i dont have any so im doing benalin (sp?). it's clearing my system and is not giving me as much discomfort as it did. glad im not the only one sick ;)

yay crissy, gonna go to tND :). hehe and crassy lots of ppl are sick all over the place. WTF did u do to them =p
Stina, PLEASE GET ME TICKET

cgal, the ppl who think im drugs at parties are not all idiots. with myself on drugs and of them im sure ppl would have a hard time tell which time i was sober. yee mi still had suspcions that i dosed secretly at parties a long time ago. thanx for fending me anyway. i was laughing today thinking back to u making fun of the way i defend girls.

newhoo good health to u all
Cameron Bay.

okey dokes, criss, i will get yer tkt. cam, do you want me to get yers too? cgal, did you tell yer work that you'd be sick on the 14th?? haha, some other person who's going to the show said the best excuse he could come up w/ so far was a stomach flu, and he was asking if anyone else had any better suggestions. :D

did anybody else receive confirmation for the WYD thing yet? i need to take a passport photo! does anyone know of any little picture booths i can go to?? i remember there used to be one at the bloor subway station or something, 'cause i took pics w/ teresa there once...ahh, the memories!

hey, g-string--are you still here? you coming for the white ribbon concert at the phoenix again? or is this the weekend of bliss w/ mr. superhoney?

(=

A drive by sounds....drive-in (thanks, Rachie)...sounds like fun! But I do agree with Christina that none of us will come even close to understanding the movie so we've got to pick something very so much uncomplicated...like a children's movie. *No Olsen flicks, Cam Haha.

Chris, can you get me a ND ticket? I'll pay you back.

So is everyone really sick? That's odd. *whistling with hands in pockets, quickly walking away backward....as just got over a cold* Remind yourselves that I love you all!

one more thing:

i really need to know who exactly is coming to the new deal show 'cause i think i might head downtown and get tkts this week. i'm pretty sure it's cheaper to buy 'em at rotate this or wherever compared to ordering through the internet. a little cheaper, but cheaper nonetheless!!

(=

yay--alan is definitely gonna be in x-men: 2!!! :)

i really didn't think "from hell" was all that bad (what i could hear of it, anyway!). i think we all need to watch it w/out each other again. i can never pay attention to movies when yer all around! that's why we should watch something i've seen already. :D

yes--the drive-in sounds good (although i'll end up having to watch the movie again)! except i *might* be helping out w/ NXNE this year. oh, and they're also having this block party thing on friday and saturday, if any of you wanna go! here's more about it.

(=

i love you all! :wipes away tear::
oh no you're all sick?! how did this happen? ::throws on sweaters etc. just to be safe:: so far it's all good. you know what i realized though? i'm getting old. haha. i was @ the mall last night with rosa and i swear we were only there for about 2 hours and we were exausted! do you remember when we were younger and we wanted to goto the mall every single day. how times have changed:) i have a story to tell about a bitch that works in one of the dress stores..but i'm too tired right now so i'll save that for later:)

i'm glad i could make you all laugh-it's always fun times with you!
cam-the people that think you're on drugs just make me laugh...they're idiots. you just keep on w/that cameron dancing! so much energy!:)
vonvon-right, you just wanted to grab your chest and you didn't know how to get around it, being around so many people, so you casually asked me to throw you a popcorn to catch. i should have seen it coming. hahaha i love you!
rachie-teeheee..christina was going to punch me! hahah. know that everything i say, i mean as a joke and never take it seriously! unless i'm being serious that is, but since that's never...yah! i know way to throw in the stupid love story. i wont ruin it for people that didn't see it but the ending...??? that was pretty damn stupid too! argh. so it's actually about a prince w/siphylis?? lol. rachel you weirdo, looking at pictures of dead people..;)

so HERE'S THE PLAN ro and i were thinking..and i know we've all been saying to do this for awhile now, ON FRIDAY do you all want to goto the DRIVE IN ?? it would be fun!! if it's nice out we can bring chairs to sit on outside and stuff.....so what do you think?!? let me know..it would be fun! and von has to scare joel again. teehee.

well i'm off for now but love you all! and talk soon:)
over and out

Monday, June 03, 2002

thank you cgal. your sure right with that. kid menace, g spot, and guvernment when i did drink no one said a word to me *l*. well some guy asked me for weed right away but pfft.
stina as i said earlir i dont just want to talk to the good dancers next time bc it turned out that they were all guys. i dont think i saw one girl who was really dancing. yeah in the hip hop room ppl were bouncing but nothing impressive.

anywhoo stina is a great drinker. she wasnt drunk at phoenix and only drunk through contact with me at G-spot.
she's got just got a groove she sometimes dips into. hehe oh and she was drunk as me at guvernment. hehe lots of good memories.

wow, seeing u guys on sunday was just pure candy. that was pretty out of the blue.
karen, sorry u couldnt come. this makes up for me missing rat race ;)
vonvon, hope u got some home work done
cgal, grapes and pop corn..... haha what were u thinking? geek :)
rosa, "Not Allowed". hehe

so on and so on. il always remember times like this. the bugger of it all is that i got a cold or something now. not sure if it was from drinking or just blahhh. the stuff coming up like school choices, jobs, and living arrangments has me worried and in knots. u guys always make me smile.

crassy u watching world cup soccer? take control of your work TVs :)

welcome back nadine =)

Cameron Bay.

laughing...hard
come and get me christina!! you know perhaps that's it. the closing of the eyes makes you seem drunk. but i understand why you'd want to close your eyes. it makes you get into the music more. i know @ chem. brothers i closed my eyes at times just to fully concentrate and enjoy the music. but i still say you were a drunk that night. DRUNK! you let me smack your ass! lol hey you think others think you're drunk/on drugs when dancing talk to cameron about that problem!!!! poor cam, all his energy and everyone mistakes it for an extreme drug intake. "yo guy what YOU on!!!?!" or he gets the stares and whispers while we all laugh at them cos they don't know cammie at all. you go cam! " yo this guy knows his shit!" i thought he was talking about cam's dancing styles and energy. apparently cam thinks the guy was telling cam he knew what drugs to take? haha

crissandra: wasn't that funny?! "alright, so the movie is about a prince who slept w/whores and had syphilis" it explains it all!!! ps to you: i don't want italy to win. bastards. go_____(fill in that spot w/any other team except italy) =)

next time we shall pick an even MORE confusing and weird movie...it's more fun that way:) hehe

Yesterday was definitely a good time. But what was up with that movie? Haha. Cgal, I think you basically summed it all up, what I was trying to figure out: We are watching a movie about a prince with syphilis. So what does that have to do with Jack the Ripper? *lol*

Ah, good times.

Speaking of which, Italy won against Ecuador, 2-0. And before that, Mexico won against Croatia, 1-0. Isn't this the greatest day ever? I also decided today that, until Matthew separates from his "wife", I'm going on a mission to be with Christian Vieri, number 21. He's my new all-time hero... :)

galine, you are sooo gonna get it. :Þ
i will fully admit it if i am ever completely intoxicated. saturday, for instance. maybe if you come to the new deal show i will demonstrate how i dance when inebriated. :P
which reminds me--here's something i've been thinking about: i think ppl automatically assume that i'm high or drunk or whatnot when i dance b/c of my eyes. i've been told that they roll back or something. lately i think i've just been closing them instead. i've noticed that ppl think john mayer is on d-r-u-g-s when he plays (on leno, for instance). maybe we have the same problem?? honestly, you won't believe how many strangers have come up to me assuming that i'm a druggie or whatever.

and while we're semi on the topic of dancing, cam--why wouldn't you want to talk to the good dancers?! they're the ones that deserve the flyers! :D

(=

my f r i e n d s
last night was incredible! what a night what a night:) do you know what i learned?(well it's pretty much something i knew for a long time)
movies + a group of friends= a completely different understanding of the movie if you even understand the movie at all!
hahahah from hell what a movie! so disturbing but it was funny half the time with all the jokes being thrown around. a lil' note popcorn and grapes don't mix. not at the same time in your mouth anyways. lol. tasted like an extremely seedy grape.the things i do.
or how about von trying to "catch" the popcorn and instead grabbing her chest?! ;)
next time we D E F I N I T E L Y have to watch "pie". you know that math sign. what an interesting movie that looks like!! ::laughs at christina who wants to hit me:: a man goes crazy trying to figure out "pie" and in turn finds god. teehee
all in all it was a fabulous night with oh-so-many laughs! it's always the best with you all. we must do it again! and of course to end the night some singing and dancing in the car to the beatles. fabulous!
christina:i wasn't drunk at the phoenix!
galine:of course you were, who dances like that sober!
(greatest of laughs to get the night started I LOVE YOU ALL!
oh and andria i think you are my quiz-twin. lol. i got yellow yoshi too:) we kik ass.

andria's life is not complete til we meet *l*
oh and when the NDP takes over the Yukon =p

"thata boy" LoL. marc kept on saying 'thata girl" when i explained to him the situation about stina last nite.
yes hopping up onto the gogo cube was to look for stinas brother. then when i was up there why not dance a lil. then another guy came up there and i felt i would just do a search on foot *l*.

Happy Birthday Rosa. boy oh boy that girl was looking hot. sexyness a la roflo *l*. i unlike stina could not speak french better after drinking. soooo ummm was that a real tatoo on Ro? i asked her but i dont know what she was saying *l*. how the heckles did we lose the birthday girl. i gave some other girl a hug bc her bday was coming up.
i just realized that talking to ppl bc they are good dancers is a fairly dumb idea for me to do. not going to pick girls in a club that way bc there were few girls who were "dancing". stina dances, but we talk *l*

im talking to much here. talk to u all in the real world again. ahhh or on icq *l*

HAHAHA--
you guys are absolutely hilarious!!!

marc--i was fully aware that i was screaming into the phone, but i just couldn't stop myself!!! i'm sorry!!
yum. i had cosmopolitans last nite. those things are fantastic. the guvernment has never let me down so far. i even managed to give away about a zillion tND flyers to some kickass, charismatic dancers--i actually ran out of 'em! and rosa looked sooo goood! she got all dolled up and everything! it really is a shame that we somehow never found her again... :( ooh, and i love how they sold big freezies after last call. cool idea. haha. and yes, cameron got up on an elevated cube thinger at the end of the nite and let his inner go-go dancer out up there.... :D
christine, if yer reading this, do you remember that bartender guy from new year's? well, he was serving in the same spot last nite! i actually recognized him!

YAAAAAAY, andria is back! i'm glad you called yesterday!! i'm also super glad that you finally got to watch ferris bueller! yay! now all you need is say anything and your life is complete!

(=
