crissandra thank you for that quick i love you i'll forgive you for not having $$ to come to the show...but never again, you hear?!;) as for the old spaghetti factory do you really want to know? i didn't want to post about it cos i really didn't want to re-live that night again. but because YOU asked...i will. we headed off @ 9...i wasn't feeling so great, and we weren't going to go (shouldn't have gone) but i persisted because joel and i ALWAYS make plans and they never happen. so we went...get there, parking was $20!!! sorry, but i wasn't going to pay that much for parking when dinner would have been the same price! so we drove around..and on the street we turned onto was a TRUCK. parked there. no way to get out. we waited 10 min. until a cop came and helped us out. so we looked for parking (of course there was none) but instead of leaving quickly...we couldn't. because on every damn street you couldn't turn left or right. we drove for 1/2 an hour before we came to the hwy! but the scenery was nice, considering we pretty much saw all of T.O. geeze. got here, just came to my house...and i was delirious (as you know i hadn't slept in 2 days) i started laughing, couldn't stop for probably 15min., joel was laughing but scared of me at the same time and then we finally fell asleep. yes, I FELL ASLEEP! so a nice way to end the night, joel left..and i went to bed for a nice deep sleep. yeah, there was my celebration into summer. LOL! i couldn't stop laughing b/c i said..THAT NIGHT was supposed to be great, i was all excited, it was the begining of summer. if summer ends up anything like that night...i'll be in for some crazy times. but that's long enough i think. hahahaha sorry for the LONG BLOG CAM!

OMG the white stripes preformance on conan tonight was fuking spectacular. "Let's Build A Home" was pumped with energy and antics. jack hoped of the drums, played on conans desk, dropped his guitar (after it went out), went face to face with meg singing, then dropped the mic stand. it's hard to explain but 28 ppl on the one topic on the msg board are all floored by this one. (they were critiqued a fair amount on previous preformances)

Anyways today i finished school and headed out to the Salad Gold party with Ro. it was also frciken fantastic. it was good times all around listening to the other sets but the salads preformance itself was the shit. ro and i made our way to front row and dead center for the set. we had to kinda push for it but onece they started to play it was all dancing. for quite a few songs i wrestled with a mosh pit that i wouldnt let get the best of me. i jumped into it a bit a few times and had 3 ppl actually say sorry to me =D. the band chick at this show left the side stage to come to the front with us. ro and i decided not to ask who she was sleeping with *l*
the crowd was pretty nice. there were some younger girls who just "chanted salads" and kinda got shoved around. more surprisingly was that the crowd was speckled with little kids who looked around the age 11. they were pretty cool kids and seemed to always be looked after. the set list for the show was their entire album including a few more tunes. the dancer dressed in a school uniform but his whole crotch section of his pant was split open mid way through. i actually caught the dancer directly with his stage dive. thank god he's a tooth pick =p.

anyways ro and i both loved it. leaving we saw a cop on every block from the oprah house to hyway. it freaked us out a bit but we were cool and both feeling rather *high*. hymmmm i think i saw a familuar pizza pizza near the oprah house too. =/. sooo tired (and smelly). i have enjoyed new deal sets and such b4 but this was the most fun set i think i have experienced. it was just perfect for what i needed. it was a filmed party... i dunno where the footage will go

Christina, I am really excited about this. :) Barber and Media Edge, that is. Media Edge is a media buying and planning service, so the agency (Media Edge) will buy and plan a media campaign for a client. I hear I'm gonna be working on Sears, so I'll be going to broadcast stations, print publications, etc. to buy time or space for Sears' ad campaign. Either that or I'll be planning when Sears should use broadcast or print throughout a set and defined campaign date. Of course then again, there are the people that actually are paid to do that and me...the intern. I'll probably be learning how they like their coffee, running errands, photocopying...

The work isn't all that exciting but there are plenty of other incentives for a gal like me in a city like this. And since Bob McCarthy's still sending me volunteer notices for TIFF, I can probably swing by there too, if I enjoy working 80 hour weeks, sure, why the heck not.

Wow good times, I'm so jealous. Glad you guys had such fun! I enjoyed the Clarknova set that I witnessed in Milton. It's a bit hard to hear the lyrics though, I hate not hearing them either. That happened at IME in March and at Everclear. But of course good music is good music is good music. ;)

Schoooool's out for the summer...School's out for forever...I just came back from writing a 3 hour in class media plan and a 3 hour final exam. It feels so good now that it's over with. I think I might miss some people from school although I'm sure I'll run into most of them all the time. I got an internship for Media Edge on the infamous Bay/Bloor. *The first song that I thought of that was supposed to bring to life how I felt about the privilege of going to Media Edge right now for some reason is Cowboy by Kid Rock.* I hate it when that happens. today was my craziest day at school. i posted earlier about pub girl sitting next to me in the lab. well the fire alrm went of and disrupted that encounter and i was too concerened with "saving" the work to walk out with her.
-during the fire alarm i talked to a guy in my eco class. we were responsible students together heading to the libary and making copies of old quizs and shit after the alarm. i went to the lab again where that phantom mouse made me jump and hit the computer desk =p
people in my classes all are more friendly to each other now. a girl invited me to sit down for lunch with her as she filled me in all the classes i skipped. a nice schooly talk. i shared my eco notes with another couple of girls in my class and we joked a bit.
my marketing teacher went to pub with some of the guys and i after class.

after our teach left i had another drink. i went for a sobering walk out of pub to find a girl offering me her 'tea' in the student center. i was a bit tripped out by it bc it tasted Exactly like my beer in pub! oh, my senses were not deceived and i went drinking back into pub. when it was just myself and the 2 girls at the table they started to play spin the bottle. ummmm if you guys know me this situation is a bit ackward (dispite the win win odds). anyways i was good and said i think were all lil to drunk to be play this now. =)

class was another rock n roll lecture. one prof commented after class that our quartette of singers were the worst. i guess our version of only fools rush in was not to his liking *l*. lecture was real fun. some how i ended up sitting outside for a portion of it although no one smoked. again this thursday i passed out in the car and slept as soon as i came home. i let my parents believe it was food poising and i think they threw the sandwhich meat out =s. no more drinking for me for a week. today was just one of those days were i got to talk to 80% of the people i met in school of the semester. i think i might stay intouch with a few of them.

so...
today is a terrible day.
especially since it follows yesterday, which was quite a decent day. yesterday it was beautiful outside, and mraz was going to be playing at the grand theatre in who-would've-guessed-it kingston.
why is today so shitty, you ask?
1. it's raining. (earlier in the day, it was freaking _freezing_ rain.)
2. i couldn't get bright eyes tkts at the tktbastard outlet at school b/c i've just learned that there no longer _is_ a tktbastard outlet at our school b/c the tkt bastards cancelled their acct w/ us. cgal, would you rather get the tkts, or do you want me to order them off the website? i think it's more expensive ordering online though...
3. i've just learned that mraz _did_ in fact come out to do the meet and greet thing last nite--except it was during chantal's set, which i had to watch, 'cause the three other ppl i went w/ were mainly there to see her. (she was pretty great though, i must admit.) last nite i thought he'd gone into hermit mode and hadn't come out at all. wrong.
but wait! it gets worse--
he fucking went to play a short set at the SCHERZO's fucking open mic night afterwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this is one of those times in life where i wish we could just press rewind and re-record past events, b/c i really was supposed to have witnessed his solo acoustic set at a little bar in my college town. really. can i just re-write my memories? let's just say that i was there, okay? alright, good. i witnessed it and it was fantastic and i will remember it forever.
anyway, back to reality.
everyone i went w/ ended up buying a mraz cd, and i kinda became kate's loan shark. she ended up having to take out more $$ at the bank down the street to pay me back for the merch she bought, and as we were heading back up princess st. afterwards, we spotted toca (the djembe man) standing outside the grand talking to some girls. i went up to say "hey," and as usual, he seemed to recognize me but forgot my name. we ended up walking w/ him up princess so he could buy a pack of smokes w/ what was left of his cdn currency, and along the way he became fascinated w/ the church that's near the mcdonald's (we call it the druggy church). so we had to take a picture w/ the church and his gnome (he brings that thing everywhere w/ him...it's sorta like the one in amélie). i hope it didn't turn out too well. i hate being in pictures.

and that was our night. i'm gonna allow myself to sulk a little more today, and then i'll get over it. maybe. ;P

Cgal, well, I called my teachers on Monday and they're pretty pissed about the situation but they understand it's not really under anyone's control except The Man's. :) They're making the arrangements for me to take my exams after the 10 days are up and they're altering some of my marks to not include some assignments. Our forced 10 day stay-in is enforced in some way or another. Yesterday they called our house like 17 times. If they catch on somehow that one person isn't in the house, the family can be fined or penalized. They delivered masks and thermometers. I thought that was kinda cool but I see them more as souvenirs rather than tools.

I must say these thermometers are pretty money...They're digital!

I don't think my family and I have spent so much time together since we've moved into this house. It's so rare for us to be in the house at the same time... it takes me to backnthaday.

Ok, so basically my family and I are being quarantined. DON'T FREAK OUT ALRIGHT!!! Everyone I've ever come in to contact with have nothing to worry about.

My parents went to a party on March 30th and were in the same building as someone who apparently had SARS. So everyone who was there were asked to stay home which means everyone in their household also. There's an incubation period of 10 days after the day of contact and clearly it's been more than 2 weeks since March 30th. One would think that at some point during the last two weeks one of us would've shown some symptoms by now if one of us had it. But we haven't and that's my point.

I probably have a higher chance of getting it from someone at school or a customer at work.

We got a notice just last night from Toronto health that even thought it's been more than 10 days since the day of contact, our incubation period starts on April 12th, anyway. Trust me, after much arguing and tonnes of phone calls regarding the lucid nature of this demand...I'm imprisoned in my own home until April 23rd.

So...Maybe this will cheer some up.

I LOVE YOU!!! how expensive is expensive?? i think tkts are gonna be around $20, including service charges and crap. but it's a 19+ show, so there will be no teenybopperies running around and screaming!! actually, i think it's going to be a pretty sombre crowd...have you ever listened to any bright eyes songs?? oh, it's also on a monday, i think (may 8?). did i mention that i love you (if you actually can come)??

cam--i have that sigur ros vid on my cool compilation video. have you seen that other vid of theirs w/ the ppl who have downs syndrome? that's a gorgeous one as well. you guys shoulda went to see 'em play at the palais royale...i think they came last month? i turned my ny cousin into a pretty devoted fan, and he even bought extra copies of their rare cd's for me. :))

aww...i wish i could afford to go to this...i would've went if my ny cousin was gonna come w/ me...but he says he's too old for outdoor festivals now. bum. mraz was rumoured to be playing it at one time, but now it seems he's gonna be playing in the uk instead. oh well. i think rh might be playing at molson park again this august or something. i hope that's true, at least.

btw--you ppl who keep mentioning that upcoming billy talent concert: did anyone notice just how **special** that day is? ;-D

crissandra it was a term, UBI SUNT. you can imagine how funny that sounds, then throw in a bar atmosphere and us drinking to it....with actions mocking our prof..then we get in the exam, flip the paper over and what do i see "ubi sunt" but even better, it's in smaller font than ALL the rest of the quotes or terms and it was UNDERLINED! i swear to you, i almost started crying. it's soooo hard for me to keep in laughter.

this dude from the wedge boards sent me a compilation video w/ a bunch of great stuff on it, and one of those great things is that kid a radiohead special muchmusic had on a few years ago where sook-yin lee interviewed thom yorke at her house. have i ever mentioned how i looove watching that band play? they are fascinating musicmakers. i so wish i could find that eurokennes de belfort concert footage i had back in high school...i swear that concert converted me.
anyway, i realized that stars has members who resemble rh...well, sort of, anyway. torquil is kinda like thom yorke and their sometimes guitarist (the hot one) really does resemble ed o'brien.

I had a really weird dream that I came home last night and couldn't turn off the house alarm and then the outside alarm started going off and everyone in the neighbourhood crowded around to see me drunk mashing all the keys on the key pad in some frenzy, trying to shut it off. Lots of bizarre dreams lately, too.

this has got to be THE WORST weekendever. yesterday, exam at 7-10. got there 5 min.before the exam. studied beforehand in a bar. adam had 4 beers..went to the exam semi-drunk. the quote we studied to hell/made fun of SO much was on the exam and for some reason underlined and i almost started laughing out loud. it took me 5 min to stop quietly giggling. that was the best part.
but got a headache. came home and had the worst sleep only to be woken up early to go for another exam. but at least at this one i got to see ian. and steven. i love my prof's. i was dressed like a star, so cozy. but who cares about that.....
