well marc and i had some of the same pictures taken. ummm some didnt turn out the greatest with the disposable camera. plus i just used a video camera to capture them online =p.

so this weekend is a long weekend, having monday august 5th(i believe) being some sort of holiday;)
rosa and i, as well as joel,liz, john and a few others are heading off to sauble beach (sp?) for a day of fun-in-the-sun.
so you're all invited, and hopefully you can attend. we'll leaving early in the morning(probably 6-7ish) and all bringing some sort of food. we'll figure that out later!

But other than those rare, off moments, altogether I really enjoyed it.

i like doing option A switching to option B as it comes closer to around 3. i might work that volunteer table a bit just to give rest to one of the 2 ppl manning it. (natioal trade center hall E). Im going to do my best to get out of my work at 5:30. i might not be able to but if i cant i should leave around 4pm.

Wow, sounds like you guys had a full day today! I'm so happy for yous guys. It's just getting me more excited! I'm def going to pick up my volunteer id on Thursday, if I can find the school.

Christina, I got the same waste management (ew, sounds so fecal lol as if we're scrubbing Porta-Potties) invitation, but I had to turn it down because I'm working all through it tomorrow. I tried to call them back for some message that they left me at home, but when I called to leave a msg back for them, the recording said the msg box was full...as was the second msg box. Ouch!

Day 2, for my Swedish guests. And the 2nd day in a row that I haven't met them yet. A pox on my work schedule! :O\ But at least I hear they're nice people. My dad told me that one of the girls that are here ditched her big sister to be with her friend, and at the last minute the little sister and her friend decided to stay at our place instead of the little sister and her big sister. well i probally gave a panicked call to most of u today =)

my day started of with breakfest with the swiss
- go train downtown where i met ppl from loyola who knew the other WYD volunteers from there school who marc and i had worked with. A group of 4 strangers 2 not involved with WYD had a great talk about things on the way down. the girl was so hot but i didnt lean into getting her number or anything. (wouldnt want to be the type of guy cgal is scared of on the bus).
-i walked with one of the bus girls to the food area and watched the pope arive on TV screen

The CNE looked liked the bussiest day at the Ex times 3. It was a giant party atmosphere were strangers took pics, greeted, filmed you asking the same questions. "where are you from?" "whats your name?"

being early for my RUNNER job i wondered around and met lots of ppl. i ran into friends aswell in the group of 200,000 or soo. Dedree, Kaitie, Sweedish girl, st.doms girl, loyola ppl, 5 guys that knew freddie and st.joes ppl, Sister PAT!, and Kevin Mc Donald (WYD TORONTO DIRECTOR) w/ family.

Being so early i was the 1st for my task and to ask a question about it. the person answering my question at the volunteer place on CNE grounds gave me the wrong info and made me an extra. being the only extra and a bit social i wondered to the midle of the almost empty warehouse to say hello to 2 ppl sitting there. they recognized me right away as being a memeber of the national focus group. it was kevin mcdonalds (TO director of WYD) wife and son. when Kevin joined us he kept on throwing different crazy positions for me and for 10 ppl he wanted me find. In the end i stationed myself to with his wife answer all the volunteer questions.
it was nuts but i seemed to have done a pretty damn good job. i did feel a bit icky just talking to ppl and getting them out of my face as soon as possible. so i went around the table meeting some great folks.

dayz wage a punk band was chilling out waiting to regester and tired from there edmonto bus ride. they played me music out of water bottles. haha. i did make my way to the Food Tent eventually bringing a group of volunteers who couldnt find it. it felt like real work most the time but i had a great meal with 7 of the guys i was volunteering with.

im sorry im just to tired to say anything else. just that it doesnt really matter what your scheduale is but just to show up and do it. there is no computer or list at the volunteer desk to see who is doing what.

i got some assignment to do waste management (ick) tomorrow at the harbourfront centre. anybody wanna come w/ me?? it starts at 7:30 p.m. that's the dirtiest thing they've given me to do so far. SOMEONE COME W/ ME!!!

i got my birthday gift from andria in the mail!!! THANKS, ANDRIA!! I LOOOOOVE GETTING B-DAY GIFTS IN JULY!!!!!! :))) then i got an e-mail from her as well, where she praised my intuitive musical taste!! :))
tonite i'm going to see a musical at stage west, and a buffet is included, too! w00!

cgal, there is a bit of a problem when you say "i'm with cameron in the sense that making animals suffer for your own enjoyment is wrong." b/c you enjoy eating some of them, don't you? maybe you meant something more like "entertainment"?
and i don't think i completely agree w/ your belief that we need meat. other edible things that contain iron do exist!!! (spinach, anyone?) or maybe you're thinking protein...well then there's tofu. vegetarians are not falling off the planet yet, so i take them as real-life examples that it can work (the ones who eat responsibly, anyway).

cam--i think the WYD ppl are just taking a while to assign all the jobs...i just got another one for some thing that begins on tuesday nite at 11 and ends at 6 am the next day!!! that's NUTS!!!! and it's in scarborough!!! sorry, but i think i'm gonna have to "reject" that one...

hrrm. so that article nadine linked us to is in a sense true. but there is only so much i can tolerate. i'm with cameron in the sense that making animals suffer for your own enjoyment is wrong. christina: when you say that "it's a good personal choice not to eat meat" is not so true. then again it's your own personal choice;) but taking meat out of your meals is not healthy because you need it. meat gives you a high source of iron that you can't find in non-meat products. unless you want to pump yourself with 5 types of vitamins each day, you'll lack things your body needs. rachie:by saying that ""We need meat in our diet, we're carnivores, that's the way nature intended it to be" are excuses they're really not. we do need meat in our diet. we are carnivores. look at our canines damnit, we're meant to eat meat! sure a lot of animals out there are tortured to make a meal for ourselves //kfc for example// but there are many farmers out there who grow and produce poultry and meats without torturing the animals.

dogs and cats...like rachie said, we see them as part of our family, as animals with emotion and love which they do have. we don't see cows and chickens as being loveable even though i'm sure they could be! but if i saw someone abusing a cow, it would hurt me just as much as if it were a dog.

i'm going to stop talking now because i could get carried away with this. we all have our own opinions, we all agree that what that jerk did is digusting and absolutely wrong.i'll leave it at that. :D

i could sooo give up meat if my mom wouldn't pester me about eating it all the time. i don't even really like eating pork or beef and whatnot. my only problem's chicken...
however--aren't we all aware of how the animals we eat are treated?? i guess i've just sort of accepted it b/c it's become such a commonplace occurence, while a bbq-ed kitten isn't. of course, just b/c things are commonplace doesn't mean that they're right, but i honestly don't think we'll ever be able to stop ppl from killing animals for food. (which, btw, is another difference w/ the kitten story--i highly doubt that those morons were going to eat it afterwards.) i think it's a good personal choice not to eat meat though.

My neighbours across from us just called the cops on some of my sister's boyfriend's friends, maybe an hour ago, because they thought my sister's boyfriend's friends were smoking weed in their car...!?! They were just sitting in their car...And got searched...? What assholes. I would like to assume these neighbours are somehow related to Anna and Toya. I knew they were screwed up somehow. this weekend has tired me out like a silver jag speeding down to charlestown.
the weekend (the band)? eh. okay. dashboard confessional? i knew there was a reason why i never ended up listening to them when ppl were telling me to check 'em out. it's 'cause it bored the crap outta me. that guy is such a ninny. like rick the temp, only he sings. but weezerrrr! it was the classic rock show! they had pyro and crazy lights, and a big "W" lighting up the stage, and the drummer playing on an elevated platform!!! they had all the rockstar poses down pat, too. felt so special having the orange wristband and a GA floor tkt. :)) we got up as close as we did at the white stripes show--behind the person at the very front. (btw--cam, her name's andrea nene. i didn't see her tonite, though!) rach, paul from yer skool somehow found me in line for the girl's salle de bain, and we talked a bit. he of course went to see D/C. blech.
but here's the best part!!! i got the setlist at the end!!! the techie guy was scrunching 'em all up and throwing them out towards us, but the other stupid ppl thought it was just garbage, but i picked it up and looked at it, and yes!!--it was the setlist!!! this guy actually came up to me and offered to buy it off me!!! then he offered to trade his shirt for it!! :D (btw--his shirt was a mcmaster solar car shirt. ooh.) and _then_ he offered to do anything for it!! but i said, "nah." **singsong voice**i got the setlist, i got the setlist!**/singsongvoice**

phoenix was fun last night. tim brought some friends from windsor and their reactions were priceless. you could tell they were good ol'country boys in awe by the city. i wasn't feeling the retro room. maybe because the men and women were old and scary. one chick kept breathing down our necks and grinding her ass against rosa. really weird. but we still had fun, downed some rev and laughed. i got picked up by some foreign guy it was hilarious! i was with joel,ro, liz, tim and he was like "is that your boyfriend" **said in funny accent** i'm like "yah" he's like "arrrre you surrre"**roll the rrrrr's with me now** uhh.."yah!" tim was laughing so hard. it was gross. but a great night had by all. a rough morning today but it was all good.

ahhhhh........yesterday's game KICKED ASSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
we were right along the first baseline in the third row. that is precisely the spot where mister anthony nomar garciaparra does his little warm-up stretches....i got to see him bend over and touch his toes all nice and up close. then i discovered that he's a religious phreak! i thought i saw him kneeling in boston, but i thought maybe he was just stretching, but no--yesterday i witnessed him doing a million signs of the the cross, and then he got down on one knee (--and proposed to me--haha) and started praying for about 5-7 minutes!! i got pictures. i asked my bro, "is it blasphemous to take pics of him while he's praying?"
THEN--
he come over and signed autographs for ppl! he does this every game. what a nice guy. he came over to our side and signed my brother's cap. my bro was in such awe. i chickened out and didn't ask to get a pic w/ him, but i did get some close-ups of him signing stuff. siiiiiigh...there were so many ppl crowded around...it would've been mean of me to take up so much time asking for a pic anyway. love him love him love him.
practically everybody there was from boston. it was great. my bro and i wore our boston caps/visors as well. ppl thought we were from boston! hee hee. you could hear ppl chanting, "let's go red sox, let's go!" throughout the stadium. :D

Listen to it! The city finally decided to give my house and the one next to it a sidewalk. Hello, wet cement! Unfortunately, someone else, "ANNA" and "~Toya~" to be specific, got to it before I did and thought it would be a good idea to immortalize their names in front of a house that my family lived in. It really upset my dad to see our 5 hour old sidewalk---which we have been waiting over a year and a half for---already marked up but most importantly, it upset me to see my dad, the nicest man in the world, upset. Before I knew it, I was scraping at the sidewalk with a broken piece of 2x4, that was being used to fence the sidewalk, like an unhealthy madwoman cursing any Annas or Toyas I ever knew. lol...See I'm not sure if I should still be mad or start laughing at the situation. July 20th is the Volunteer Mass for WYD and all in our group i think it would be wise to attend. You can pick up your volunteer badge, tshirt etc there and be officialy commisioned *l*

BTW...... THIS SATURDAY. my family has its annual Bayley picnic. Every year its been a pretty great time as it brings over both sides of my family for playing in the park. It's always good when ppl bring a friend as it increase the ammount of ppl to talk too and play with. So anyone feeling interested in coming to Bronte park with me next saturday afternoon. *smiles*
at worse you get to spend some time with me =p. will you think about it? its not a sucide mission. honest. really :)
