Aww, rach you started planning NYE in October!?

cgal, I went to Nuit Blanche. Was at a concert before hand in the Distillery District and then after a visit to Franz spent the cold night out. I took the first bus home in the morning.
Some good experiences but I'm on the fence for doing that again. Put pics on FB.

Bet that video is still stuck in your head.

Saturday, October 30, 2010

Cam, that video was extremely creepy. I will probably have nightmares.

What does everyone have planned for New Year's?

Friday, October 08, 2010

cameron, that was an acid trip and a half. and i was just coming out of one. i can't even remember what i did to get nailed with all the olsen twins jokes but i have a feeling they're gonna follow me for the rest of my life! the jokes that is.

did anyone go to nuit blanche? cam? i skipped it this year but i went to the last two and it was pretty much balls. there's so much hype and it's such a great concept but i found it pretty lame and plus it gets so cold and everything this time of year.

cam, update us. (me.)

is anyone out there? (out there?) (out there?)

:D

Hey guys,

At last this blog is working for me. It was nice to have this group communication before. Hope you all have been well. Nuit Blanche anyone? I might try do it all night and not hide in a bar for most of it...

Watched Clone High on DVD a little while ago and it reminded me a bit of old times.

For old times sake, this video is for you Crassy!

hi frands,

sorry for the late reply. my firefox has been so slow lately, anyone else finding that, is it just me? every time i go around asking that i always think of that one scene in the life aquatic when bill murray gets hit with swamp leeches and he calmly instructs his crew to check for swamp leeches and everyone's fine and he's like, "nobody else got hit? i'm the only one?" oh man, i'm gonna go watch that now.

rachie, i got a book on television (ha) for $5! great deal and great book. dance class sounds fun i've always wanted to learn how to dance ballroom. i used to work the phone rooms for a private latin dance studio in mississauga and the instructors lived lives like soap stars. every day it was a new affair, a new eating disorder and plenty of drama to go around! it was an amazing time. don't use cover up on your legs if anything add some black and blue eyeshadow to them to deepen the ferocity of the bruises! they'll make great conversation starters. however, i'll question any man intrigued with battered women until he addresses his intentions. i'm also pretty tight on the monetary funds (what's new) but i will celebrate marc's birthday in spirit, which i guess means i'll - in spirit - also be with him who will also join us in spirit. man, i'm tired.

galinerz!!! you made it on! you may literally be on the other side of the world but you already feel so much closer to home, already. i realllly wish i had a scanned photo from the first makeover, omg, these are going to be photos that we look back on every 5-10 years and think WTF. WTF WERE WE ON. and then we'll be all like, oh, nothing. and then we'll high-five. oh you must post photos!!! link us to some seoul life, i'd love to see where you're living and what it's like! that'd be awesome. i think it'd be cool if everyone did that.

oh gosh, i forgot to mention, vern and i bumped in to charles and yvonne on bloor street! what!!! what are the chances. i mean, really. vern and i always avoid bloor and take side streets and on this particular nite we just didn't even think about it. charles and yvonne were killing time in the annex and walking around and vern and i were walking back home with a big cold watermelon that we picked up to help us get through that heatwave. i think it was still like 32 degrees that nite and it was like 9 pm! vern wanted to drop off the watermelon before hitting up clinton's, which is where the newlyweds were heading, so vern and i got to take the two home for a bit and give them a quick tour of our humble abode before heading out for pints. well, i had an apple cider (non-alcoholic) due to my detox but the grown ups got adult drinks.

my darling loves,

how i miss this place! i was waiting for everyone to reply to crissybob's (i think you are a woman of many nicknames, my dear;) email but i see we've started it up here!

moi? i'm still living it up in seoul teaching esl & just got married last year! of course, everyone in facebookland knows this already ;) i love being a wife & i think i was probably born for domestic bliss. cooking food together, watching movies, hanging out, singing songs, dancing, coffee coffee coffee...i love it :)

i miss you all very much though and would very much love for a reunion when i return! perhaps you gals (rach, criss, vonvon) can give me a ziggy stardusk-esque (did i even spell that right?) makeover again...muahaha

love you and and miss the laughs!
let's keep this thing going!!

Crassy, did you buy any books?

Today I started Latin American Dance (level 1) classes at the community centre. We learned the merengue. I was (surprisingly) doing quite well! I can't wait for the next class!

Muay thai is going pretty well too, though my legs are bruised and ugly. I'm debating whether I should put cover up on them when I go out to work and stuff.

Anyone want to go on a boat cruise July 18th to celebrate Marc's b-day with him in spirit?

wow, five year wedding anniversary. time flies!

rachie, i feel ya. i'm doing my best to find the "right" job for myself. i share similar qualms about my past places of employment, never really feeling content or challenged or creative. it's tough, but i believe in you. where are you volunteering? muay thai doesn't have ranks, it's just a drink! hahaha, the ironing is delicious. i always appreciate a clever simpsons throw-in.

so i plan on sleeping through this heatwave. when the weather forecast says "feels like" 43 degrees celsius, i pack it in. maybe skulk around later when it's dark, like i did last nite which probably felt like about 38 so it was kinda pointless yet not the point. bought a book from bmv (open til 11!), infamous annex bookstore about 5 minutes down the street. i called at about 10:15 pm and surly annex book shop guy answers with a long, surly drawn out "elevennnnn," when i asked what time they're open til tonite. then we bought some sweet cold watermelon. yum, it's what summer's made of! even when it "feels like" my insides are sweating.

also on that note, rachie, i think a bbbq sounds awesome!

Saturday, July 03, 2010

Oh wow it's definitely been a while. It's coming up on Janice and Aaron's 5th anniversary and they're still going strong. Thanks for hashing up the memories Crassalejandro (Crassandro). Btw, I love your pic!

Well, my update would consist of this:
I've been living the somewhat retired life, minus the globe-trotting, since I'm working part time. I've been doing way too much volunteering so now I'm job hunting & hoping that I gracefully fall into my "perfect" job. I'm at home with my parents & they're the same. The love life comes and goes in turbulent waves ;) For fun I am slowly working my way through the ranks of muay thai. That's pretty much it. I think that was as short as Crassy's.

It's funny that when I entered my e-mail address, another blog came up and I realized that though so much has changed, I've pretty much stayed the same. It's a little depressing and funny at the same time. The other blog was my own little rant journal, but it mostly consisted of me going on about how much I missed "Tim" (Andy). It's creepy that how I felt back then, after having been dumped by "Tim," is exactly how I'd felt last year after me and "Blanket" (Tish---) broke up: I feel like I just failed at something so horribly. That's me and love. A failure. That's what it feels like. Will I ever get this thing right?? It's quite weird the way I go through relationships- who knew I'd be so bad at them!!
I forgot how dramatic I can be...

And even back then, I wondered if I'd ever find my perfect job: Oh my gosh, I hate working in retail! It's so tiring to put up with customers for nine hours on a Saturday- a day that's supposed to be relaxing! I wonder if I'll ever find the perfect job for me...? Retail makes me want to eliminate the human race, while social services makes me want to help mankind. "The ironing is delicious."
There's always room for a Simpsons quote.

Well, hopefully I'll have much more positive news to spew out to the rest of y'all. Miss you guys. Maybe the next time everyone's in the area, we should do a little blogger bbbq? The extra "b" is for BYOB (that was for Crassy).

Will anyone even read this?

omg rach i just read your post on the wedding. man, you know you're getting old and hopeless when you *tear* during wedding stories!
posted by lucy barcelona @ 2:49 PM

wow, old, i was 22. btw, lucy barcelona is a pseudonym for another-type beta blog that i use to purge an excess of randomness out of my head. i can't find a way to sign different names to different blogs. but it is i, your friend crassy, crassandra, crassalejandro (rach)!!! ahem. crissandra. hm, maybe i should have put that at the beginning of this post.

ok so just a tiny little update to get things "warmed" "up." i'm still living in toronto (little korea!) with my lovely boyfriend vernon (not a little korean) and four lovely housemates. i'm unemployed (story for another day?) i'm upset that party down was not renewed for a new season. i just discovered that i love twitter because i feel like i'm getting text messages from celebrities (on the other hand, facebook still hasn't grown on me). and i guess i'm nocturnal which i'm sure doesn't surprise a few of you. i run on new zealand time which is 16 hours ahead of eastern standard time. and, i've never been to new zealand.

i don't think that paragraph counts so much as an update, but clearly after i mentioned i was unemployed i had run out of life-things to update you all on. you all. y'all.

i'm gonna end this like how many posts in our blog toward its recession ended, which was, "is anyone even reading this?"

Just a quick visit to blogger...

To wish Kay

a very ....

Happy Birthday. :)

In other news, not much is new. Still trying out new positions at the insurance company. Still checking out concerts (see flickr).

cgal, I checked out Le Voyage En Armenie at TIFF. It's not a great movie that it's a must see, but was memorable and an interesting perspective to Armenia.

I have you beat cgal,
In our packed computer lab the strap of my bag fell. I was startled by the motion at my feet and jerked my knee straight into the computer table creating a thundering sound. It noise made the people all around me jump.

Funny thing is, I didn't mind the Humber mouse.

this page needs to be brought back to life!!

haha cameron, how could i forget the sticky keys? those computers caused me a great deal of stress and woe. like the time when my computer froze and my emails were left up on the screen and i was trying to stay composed while searching for the restart button on the computer. i eventually had to ask the guy beside me and i felt like a dufus seeing that it was right below the desk. computer illiteracy at its finest i say!

Friday, July 14, 2006

That was odd, I was just googling away and came across our page today.

Galine, I'm surprised you remember the Sticky keys.

I'm helping a friend out with an Aids Benefit concert August 18th. Lindi Ortega is playing who some of you may remember seeing for Christine's birthday. All the acts can be pretty found on MySpace.com. I hope you guys can make it. Below is the flyer that I made for the event.

...a happy birthday to you rachel...

Thursday, September 22, 2005

lol, the news was meant to excite, not depress.
i only joined my space a week or 2 ago but still hate it. it just turned out to be the easiest way of talking to local artists outside of email. (because email is hard?)

glad your well cgal.

she's doing wonderful. how could she not be, she's living in a paradise! maybe you should give her a ring marc! gosh. ;)

& arab strap on myspace? ugh. that's sinking to a really horrible low. i respect them (arab strap actually consists of 2 guys: aidan & malcolm) this news depresses me. oh well, guess we all have to whore ourselves somewhere. a pity really.

oh & i'm fine;) you?

Wednesday, September 21, 2005

extended happy bday wishs kay.

hey galine, how the hell have you been?!
arab strap joined myspace.com this week if you want to talk to him. i recall you being a fan. if you need links, let me know.

nadine, was that for real? funny stuf

I had an amazing weekend. White Stripes, 3rd row... ranks as my fave concert. It's nearest rival would be the first time I saw them. How fantastic!
U2 the following night was good, musical excellent. You can't compare the shows as they both bring to very different performances. I was surprised to find my high points of the show were during Vertigo, Elevation, and Miracle Drug. I was in the third row of the rear seating for that show, it felt like we were on stage, backstage. To keep up the 3s, I watched the Jays vs Yankees from the 3rd row besides the Jays dugout. Most entertaining ballgame I have ever watched, Yankees were sloppy.

*blows the dust of the blog*

The tweaking with Flickr has continued, my concert photos are in the sidebard of the page.
It can be taken away later, no worries.

I will probally upload family and friend shots in personal folders. If that's the case you guys will be invited to register but users can create private Groups to host a bunch of photos. It seems like a pain for archiving.

Friday, August 05, 2005

Hi Guys,
It's been a month since my last post here. it's been awhile since i have seen some of you at all.

Over July I saw a few shows like Feist, Apostle of Hustle, Broken Social Scene, The Arcade Fire, Sarah Slean, Stars, Cuff the Duke etc. Pretty much all the bands I have tried make my to see over the year I got to catch again or for the first time.

most pictures and moving images are on my PC, but I have been toying with flickr.
my photos are here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/cameronb/

My august is left pretty unplanned other then a family events speckled through. I had fun seeing some of you last weekend. Im in for Caribana again next year, so long as I'm in town. We have had such great weather this summer. anyone up for poker, bar patios, club patios, bbq, picnics, the drive in, or outdoor activities? rock climbing, camping, or rafting tickle anyones fancy?

were really lucky no one was killed in that crash at pearson. they only clear cutted those trees in that ravine a couple of years ago. i used to cut the grass over in that area. i saw my uncle responding to the scene in the background of the news. i am currious to hear back from ppl i worked with, but im sure they have things to do.
i was really thankful to the outcome.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWINMEISTER!!!

Monday, July 04, 2005

stina, a friend of mine teachs HS in Monteray Mexico. She just did a 1 year contract but if you need any advice, I can forward her email on.

hey ppls,

karen--if he does anything like that again, just say something right away, like, "you're creeping me out. jesus, get away!" or "have you ever heard of something called personal space?" or you can be nice (overrated) and just say, "i'd really appreciate it if you would ask me first if you need to borrow something, and also, can you please stop OGLING ME??!!!???"

so i haven't been on here in a while. rach, some of my pics are posted up at snapfish. however, they are mostly scenery shots and therefore 99.9% of you will find them boring as hell. eh. they also go in reverse order of the way the albums are presented, i.e., i started in england and ended in the netherlands.
i also have a few vids up on my site, and i may add a few more up there eventually.

another thing i may not have told most of you is that i'm going to be teaching high school math at the colegio americano de puerto vallarta (that's in mexico) this upcoming school year. it's a two-year contract, but if it doesn't work out, i can leave after one year. i hope it works out.

awww, kay
If he ever makes you feel uncomfortable, just tell him that you need a little more space. If he objects, just say your not comfortable with workers/people that close. Not taking such action can allow for things to esculate. Try your best not to be shy as you really want him to know in no uncertain terms that you want it to stop. If he continues to bother you after you have made things clear speak to your supervisor. Your supervisor is legally rquired to action but if there is a failure to do so, speak with the manager as he is held by the same rights.

Like rach, I had a shot at a few of the rooms. I had tried the crimson room before and only got to dancing projector and clicking for the safe. I would rather stick with Tomb Raider puzzles ;)

Harbour Front on Friday was great. The crowd was of all ages and you could tell people just wanted to have fun. The area was pretty packed. Galine, I'm not sure if it was you who I saw wearing a scarf or someone else. Stine only told me that you guys went yesterday.
Apostle of Hustle was fun to see but I don't think I would listen to their music normally. Feist was a great entertainer and was lovely to see. She lit sparklers for Canada day, make firework noises at the sight of the fireworks at ontario place going on, and got a hot little disco dance by "cha chi" who came up on stage.

Live 8 on saturday was fantastic. It was really organized and my faves for the day were Bryan Adams and Deep Purple. Simple Plan caused the most excitement in the crowd as the younger ppl were there for them. Montly Crue were fairly intense. The little films for makepovertyhistory.org were really good. Some of them made people break into applause. More pixs are on my flickr site.

I'm probally going to watch Dayna Manning play again tonight at the Revival. On Friday, Broken Social Scene is doing a free show at Dundas Square.

Ohhhhhh yeah, I had convocation last week. I got a part time job with Pencorp working a few days within their marketing group. I got introduced to the co. from Marcel who works their. :)

fiest, apostle of the hustle, and more at harbour front

arrival between 7-8

option 2 is to head down earlier to visit the AGO, dinner, free concerts, and then fireworks.
i think those that are in: karen, myself
maybe: nadine, marc

I thought THIS was hilarious

Wednesday, June 22, 2005

The Arcade Fire on the MMVA last week kicked ass.  Someone

happened to capture it.  Can I have a roll call for those

interested in Hillside, or atleast the Saturday?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

The car ahead of me today was a bit of 7 of 9 (star trek voyager

fan). First I was admiring the back windsheild and the the fact

he named his car "serven". After I saw his plate and "borg edition" I

needed to take a picture.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

So in total we have 6 people heading to this Stripes concert, all

floor.  Should be a kick ass time.  When my credit card is

charged I will let you know of the final cost.  It would be

terrible to learn that my CC info was incorrect or something like that.

hey cityline was pretty good today. Not a show I normally watch but a great debate. I might be biased because the girl from BT was on it. Good stuff, "they didn't solve a problem" but was worth a few laughs.

I saw tND last week at the Mod Club. Not much has changed between them or the crowd. It was the first time they played the Mod and it was pretty sweet. Everyone was dancing but some of the most annoying people probally on E seemed to find me. Dispite the Etards I enjoyed dancing through the first set and the 2nd set started even stronger but appeared to nose dive after that. The rest of the crowd seemed to like it still, but I was just trying not to step on broken beer bottles.

I have been pretty sick this week but am already getting better. Still puts my current shows on hold. I skipped Blanche on Monday and will skip out on all NXNE gigs. I might try see Sarah play an art benefit show on Sunday but still have to sort out times. Dayna manning is playing on June 17th at the Rivoli and may try see her, she cute and sounds like Jewel. Looks like all the acts i'm interested in thus far at Hillside are playing Saturday.

i posted my reply to gps panties on the little news slean blog. It was up for the whole day before noticing the error. I'm not sure how wide the readership is but it was pretty embarassing. Worse is that a job I included a link to it in a cover letter for a job i applied for earlier in the day.

The Dears were on kimmal yesterday. nothing fantastic but i captured it.

kay, sounds like a great deal on chips... but i thought u didnt like holdem.
lots of stores have sales on them..... from national sports to loblaws. i would check costco too but you probally have the best deal.

Note to self, Blanch - Mon. June 6th Toronto The Horseshoe
this Monday I might see Valery gore again. I saw Dayna manning last week and she was really cool, I have to see her again sometime. Both those girls are really easy to have a crush on.
I'm going to hillside, not sure as a volunteer, or just going to pay.

it's been awhile but thanks for those that came to my BBQ and helped out. The weather wasn't the greatest but it was really nice drink and eating with you guys. Its been awhile since I had seen some of you.

I'm starting to get a bit stressed trying to find a job. I know because each week I keep on hitting more ppl in my hockey games *l*. 2 places I have had offers for so far have been less then ideal. Stay away from primerica and any posting with the details of "sales, promotions, marketing, and management training" in position details but no further description. If any of you know people within marketing can you kindly let me know. Any help would be really appreciated.

rach, I think I might have won the smallest waist contest. Currious to what the prize might have been.

Friday, April 29, 2005

nadine, you were a pear jam fan? i only grew to follow them a bit bc of kat. i respect them, but not a big enough fan to seek after them for a show.

kay, that is creepy. i'm glad he was reported and caught on. maybe a bit to late bc the 2nd was caught... hopefully there were not others.

I have been having a real difficult time trying to comprehend (don't read if you don't like bad news out in the world)....the rape/torture/murdeur of the 18yr old boy by other teens in a field in Orangeville. The attack was over him laughing at one of their drunk friends. the sentence to one of the Young Offenders, 3 years.

my last day 2morrow. i couldn't stay away from blogger. i think i already said most my goodbyes to those that were close. some loose plans to see some again, and i hope they do work out. i hope i didnt screw things up.

rach, glad your in for bovine :)

Cameron

ps- note to self. kills and the arcade fire among others here.

Wednesday, April 27, 2005

Pearl Jam is going across Canada, is anyone interested in catching them?

Ticket presales are on until May 9, though I don't know how likely it would be that I would get tickets that way because I'd be a new sign-up.

I'm assuming GAs go on sale on May 10.

Tuesday, April 26, 2005

awww, glad to hear from you guys.
its almost bbq season and an assembly is in order.

last week and i can hardly sleep. david blaine's 3 new specials on TLC doesn't help.
some crazy new tricks he is displaying like bringing dead animals to life, tearing of a chickens head and reataching it, and reading minds. There are a lot of other special things in it dealing with the people.

rach,
think you and candy might be interested in heading to the Bovine Sex Club? it's another one of those bit different clubs. may 19th a humber friends bday...

it was kinda sweet today, we finished our exam today but no one wanted to leave. we stood in the hall talking about nothing for over an hour before going for lunch. it's funny bc we really only got to know each other over the last few classes and now seem like we dont want to say bye. it's really hard to see where all the pieces are going to fall. my dad discussed with me today about openning a tire business with him. it was so random as i have been kept away from the car detail of things pretty much my whole life, now this opportunity is presented. it's not something i plan to do, but next week i start job hunting.

marc, your "bitchs" storry cracked me. you should forward that out to your family, it's crazy. i read an interesting article about the philippines in regards to 80% catholic population and catholic doctrine. look forward to hearing about your trip. bring me back a wife too *l*
;)

Blanch - Mon. June 6th Toronto The Horseshoe

i broke my rule, posted before the week was over.

Sunday, April 24, 2005

hey'all,

thanks for the b-day wishes.
it was a low-key evening (i practically slept through the whole day)--went to dinner w/ a few friends (they gave me free dessert! i love dessert. especially when it's free), came back to the apt and just hung out. a bottle of tequila was present, but was left untouched. wtf?!

i'm europe-bound in less than a week--i leave friday! insane. i finish classes on thursday, so it's gonna be a kind of tight transition.

good luck to all who still have exams/papers/stress-inducing crap left to complete...i feel your paaaiiiin!

love,
christina

Saturday, April 23, 2005

happy bday stina

good luck on your exams kay.
i think il be up for the reunion if u guys are going :)
have to recheck the info
